Darth Maul, an apprentice of Darth Sidious, was dispatched during the Naboo Crisis to find and capture Queen Amidala. He eventually finds her in Tatooine, where he has his first duel with Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Later, on Naboo, Darth Maul again duels Qui-Gon Jinn, this time killing him. However, he underestimates the abilities of Qui-Gon's apprentice, Obi Wan Kennobi, and is killed by him.

Boba Fett was known as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, and often worked for The Empire. His most notable bounty came when he captured the Rebel Alliance hero Han Solo, for Jabba the Hutt.

I sort of remember when Star Wars first came out (long before it was Episode IV). I was in middle school, and my friends and I decided to go see it only after hearing that it was a good movie, and that it would probably be leaving the theater soon. Turns out that it was an excellent movie, and it started my interest in science fiction. After the first movie ended, we didn't even consider that another would be made, we just talked about how cool it was.

A few years later when we learned of the sequel, and that it was Episode V, we were slightly confused, but couldn't wait. Naturally, at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, we knew there was going to be a third movie, and we spent the time in between trying to figure out how it was that Darth Vader could be Luke Skywalkers father.

After Return of the Jedi (originally titled Revenge of the Jedi) ended, everything was good in the universe, the good guys had finally won. Since teh moveis were Episodes IV, V & VI, would we ever find out how it all started?

Soon the Star Wars universe began expanding with novels by various authors, and we learned that all George Lucas had arranged for his universe to to be kept in order so that characteres did not appear in multiple locations at the same time. The videos were released (and bought), then the Trilogy collection. In the intervening years life happened; college, job, grad school, job, marriage, kids, and then it was announced that the Prequels were being made.

Now my wife & I (another Star Wars fan) had the chance to see how it all began, and introduce our kids to the galaxy far, far away. Watching Episodes I, II & III, and knowing what happens in the ogirinal movies made answering all of our kids questions that much easier. Of course when we were unsure of th eanswer, it was a chance to rewatch the them (this time on DVD). The Star Wars movies (all of them) are such an enjoyable escape from reality, that even though we have them on VD and can watch them whenever we want, we also stop to watch when we see them on TV (right now I'm actually writing this during commercials of The Empire Strikes Back).

To say that everyone in my family loves Star Wars is obvious by the fact that for Halloween, my children (twins, boy & girl) has dressed up as Luke & Leia, Obi Wan and Padme, and Darth Vader (Grace opted for Hanna Montana last year), while the adults have been Darth Vader, Princess Leia and Jedi Knights. I'm sure that as they get older, they'll start reading the books also, and some day watch the movies with their kids.

The first stormtroopers were the clone troopers that survived the clone wars. They were later supplemented by additional batches of clones grown in the outer rim planet of Kamino.

Without the guidance of the Jedi generals, they bacame the elite shock troops of the Galactic Empire, who brutally enforced the Emperor's will.

Among the Rebel Alliance, Stormtroopers were known as whitehats, plastic soldiers, snowmen, and stormies.

The Clone Trooper Commanders were generated on Kamino, along with the rest of the clone army. Those designated to be commanders, were bred with an extra capacity for autonomy, tactical thinking, and coordination. They also received special trianing to fulfill their more specialized roles.

Clone Trooper Commanders were often assigned to field command centers, led regiments of clones into battle, and were capable of leading smaller regiments of clones as Advanced Recon Commandos.

The X-wings were a series of star fighters that found service in the Rebel Alliance and later in the New Republic. Named after their characteristic X-shape of four wings, they were flown by a single pilot.

During the attack on the first Death Star, Luke Skywalker is piloting an X-wing fighter, form which he fires the proton torpedo that destroys the Death Star.
