Marissa Lorraine Davison, daughter, granddaughter, daddy's girl

Marissa Lorraine Davison born February 7, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I know what your thinking. Just another granddaughter; another pround grandmother. Yes, you are partially right. But, see is special. She was doing sign language before she could walk. She loves her books, toys and loves to have her picture taken. She is very coordinated for her age. She loves to play kick ball. She loves gagets...anything that has a button, switch, anything she can move. She is very good at making things work. She doesn't give up easily.

I remember when you first discovered her shadow. We had just gone outside for a walk. It was a nice warm day and she was standing and getting into the mode of walking. She started to swing her arms and she noticed her shadow moving. She got excited and when she swing her arms to see her shadow move she just about fell over. She was young and had just learned to walk. It was exciting for this grandmother to see her grandchild experimenting and learning and loving to learn. That's my girl.

Marissa just had her second birthday. It was raining so we stayed in that day. We had a party at mom and dad's. We celebrated with cupcakes and ice cream. She loved the cupcakes and her favorite fun time was the big helimum balloon with the stuffed animal tied to it. She took advantage of the situation and used the balloon as a punching bag. What fun she had.

This picture with Marissa and her pacifier (she calls it her "B") melts my heart. Look at those eyes. Don't they just say, "I am here, watch out cause I love you and life." I hope she remains that way!

Now, this pic is a shot we got at a restaurant. Marissa was having fun, being silly and posing for the camera. I call it "coy". She know's what she is doing.

Below is pic of Marissa when she was about a day or two old.

The gentleman at the studio knew his stuff. He was able to get Marissa to "enjoy the moment". I think they both had fun that day.

Notice...she has her "B" (binky/pacifier) hanging from her dress. A girl can't be too careful. She may need that security!

Loving Her Daddy

Pink is her color. She is so stylish with her head band, matching dress and shoes. WOW! And doesn't she look so safe and happy in her Daddy's arms?

She loves carrots.

Our girl loves carrots. She is growing. However, recently she cut her finger. She finally reached that point where she could get her hand to the sink counter and found a knife. She was trying to cut her carrot.

FATHER'S DAY - JUNE 15.

DADDY'S GIRL

It was February 7, 2007 you see, that Marissa Lorraine, arrived to be, Daddy's Girl.
His eyes got big when she arrived; could it really be, I am a Daddy?
He was extremely over joyed, yes sirree, and what a pleasant gift from God, is she.
For this baby girl was a miracle for mommy, daddy and family.

And there were medical issues for mommy and baby, but prayers brought them through, as many times prayers do. So mommy got stronger, baby did too. And spring came and baby grew and grew and grew.

Now baby is crawling and moving about; mommy and daddy have no doubt. She is the best little girl that ever could be; she even seems to love the camera, people, and Grammy, that's me.

So, now baby is walking, she is a toddler you see. Speaks occasionally now, however so softly. She is moving about, and doing some talking. Why, mommy and daddy got her doing "signs" and she's communication with her hands all the time.

So, she is no longer a baby, except to Grammy, that's me. She loves to play, look at her books and then flee! She is beautiful you see, and I know it won't be long, she will be three.

So, when it is time for Marissa to say her goodbyes, I love the expression I see in her eyes, when Daddy comes to pickup his little girl. As it is definite you see, she is Daddy's girl, as it was meant to be.

Sandy, This is wonderful. All except the picture of me. I look like my face has some kind of swollen jaw disease! All kidding aside, you did a wonderful job and I agree with you completely.

And Her Life Is Just Beginning.

Marissa is going to have a sister, Desiree, to be born in June 2009. I believe Marissa will be a wonderful big sister.
