Jimi Hendrix Smoking Hot Guitar Found in London

A 1965 Vintage Fender Stratocaster owned by none other than Super Guitar Legend Jimi Hendrix has been recently discovered. It was sold at auction on September 4th by the Fame Bureau at the Idea generation Gallery in London. It fetched an incredible $497,557.00 (half a million, not bad!)

This guitar is the second Jimi Hendrix Strat to be sold at auction. Jimi Hendrix's infamous 1969 Blonde Maple Neck Fender Stratocaster, (pictured above) that Jimi played his incredible version of "the Star Spangled Banner" on. At the historical Woodstock three-day Festival in New York. Was sold at auction for $1.8 million. This is the guitar Jimi plays and is featured here in the Movie Woodstock. (video)

Found in London, on the other side of the world, and thought to be lost forever. This latest artifact; a 1965 Vintage Fender Stratocaster no less, is also rich in the annals of Rock history.

It represents a priceless and timeless piece of Jimi Hendrix memorabilia. The heirloom raised a lot of buyer interest. Not to mention it piqued the ongoing interest of millions of adoring fans, Rock Star friends and guitar players all over the globe watched in adoration as the auction progressed.

In March 1967 Hendrix played this Vintage Stratocaster onstage at a concert held at the hallowed Finsbury Astoria Venue in London. As an amazing climax to his show and the song "Wild Thing", Hendrix set the guitar in flames and began to smash the burning guitar into the stage floor several times.

In a frenetic frenzy, amid a howling crescendo of ear-splitting feedback from his powerful Marshall Amplifiers, Hendrix crashed guitar and all; into his Marshall stacks. He nearly over-balanced himself and his Amplifiers. Both teetered precariously at the brink of disaster.

Hendrix repeatedly smashed the blazing Stratocaster savagely into the floor. Immediately in front of Mitch Mitchell's Drum riser, the guitar bounced back upward uncontrolled. It ricocheted and sent drums, stands and cymbals crashing loudly to the floor everywhere.

As Hendrix threw down the flaming instrument in disdain and stormed off-stage; I was astounded! The guitar still remained fully intact. Incredibly this guitar had survived the onslaught. Clearly it had not taken any structural damage from the "Experience," Jimi Hendrix of course! (Excuse the pun)

Jimi himself was rushed to hospital with minor burns to his hands and fingers as a direct result of his stage antics.

Jimi's burnt Strat was recovered by his staff immediately after the show. It was then left with personal friend and press agent Tony Garland. Who put it in storage in his parents Garage.

The Vintage Stratocaster guitar, moderately charred along the neck and over the pick-guard fascia, is still playable. It was rediscovered last year by Tony's nephew. The guitar, its history and storage whereabouts have been authenticated.
Jimi Hendrix Burnt two guitars. The second guitar in late 1967 at the Monterey Pop Festival. Jimi is seen smashing the guitar to smithereens and he hurls it into the crowd. This guitar was extensively damaged.

It later came into the possession of Frank Zappa of "Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention" fame. This guitar was not playable. Frank Zappa fully custom rebuilt the guitar and had it extensively modified to his own specifications. He played it both live and in the studio on many of his albums.
Go here: watch this incredible Video as Jimi sacrifices his guitar

I myself am a huge; huge, fan of Jimi Hendrix and a heavily influenced guitar player. I too play a Fender Stratocaster :) However, I am left in two minds about the outcome of this incredible and priceless find.

For what its worth. These are my thoughts. I am absolutely thrilled, that this particularly historic guitar belonging to Jimi Hendrix has been recovered. However I am concerned that it will be lost:

a) Auctioned to a private collection as happened to his 1969 Woodstock Stratocaster.

b) How can someone take it upon themselves to sell a guitar they do not own. Clearly it belongs to Jimi Hendrix. (or left as a legacy to his immediate family)

c) It should be in a public museum of music memorabilia for the world and his millions of fans to enjoy.

Please feel invited to leave your comments please.

Q) What are your thoughts?

Q) Do you agree or disagree?

Easy Way to Learn Guitar

Beware Music Master pro.com is it a Scam?

Background. Many people myself included are passionate about playing guitar. I have taught Guitar as a Tutor at Tertiary education level. I am a Professional Musician and Audio-Technician and for many years worked as a paid Researcher in education.

I do not like to put people down, or take anything lightly.

However and unfortunately, there are certain wannabe Merchants who blatantly take advantage of the lucrative learn guitar online niche. They offer a great sales pitch. Great Marketing. A wonderful dynamic website. Sadly, when it comes right down to it they fail to deliver the goods.

First and foremost both teaching and guitar playing are seriously flawed. I probably need to name; names here, to prevent other reputable merchants from being blamed by association and tarred unfairly with the same brush.

Secondly I have watched many of the Video lessons in question. Video evidence is now posted on You Tube and mefeedia.com. Articles posted on Yahoo answers and in Google are also very explicit. These factual accounts set alarm bells ringing loud and clear.

If you want to Google it yourself go ahead. Not my Videos these are out there.
musicmasterpro.com - the most useless tutorials ever bass 4 and the You Tube URL http://www.youtube.com

To name some of the videos I watched The 1/16th note aspects clip. This was bad enough. It got worse.

The "descending blues solo clip is absolute cr@p! It is not any blues I ever heard. The so called solo sucks big time. Blues is about feelings and emotions. Bending notes, hammer-ons, pull offs, trills, vibrato and the Pentatonic scales. Just to name a few of the techniques. This Guy did not bend one single solitary note. The bending 1 clip was horribly flat. The tuning clip was a bad joke. The guitar was never in tune. Tuning with distortion on is a no, no. The notes are not accurate for tuning because they are well... distorted?

After you view these clips, and given I have heavily criticized these 'Tutors' and their 'methods' I guess will have to front up. Here I play the Working Man's Blues and you can make your own comparison, go here and click the play button: I call this piece The Working Man's Blues

The Artificial harmonics clip was absolutely horrible. I can tell that these so called 'Tutors' are nothing but backyard and bedroom guitar heroes. They spend a lot of time playing alone to themselves and getting off on it. This is usually accompanied with truckloads of ego stroking haha!.

In the bass guitar and first video the tutor is indecisive, off topic, time wasting and does not actually teach anything. He sits there waffling on with a Bass guitar on his lap and does nothing with it. He goes off on a tangent and loses the plot entirely. It is that bad. I have to recommend something to those that deserve betterEasy Way to Learn and Enjoy Guitar Playing

The worst aspect is that people are buying into it in the tens of thousands. It is a mega seller based on its very slick marketing and dynamic web Promotions. Affiliate Marketers love promoting this product because it is a veritable goldmine. Many are making $4,000 per week promoting it.

The downside is many affiliates who now know about the scam only found out after they paid out to market it and after collecting many big pay cheques. Clearly, you can see they do not want to lose a substantial income. Many are not willing to kill the golden goose...

Many people will watch the videos and pass the message on. Eventually the sales will drop off as more people become aware. Unfortunately, these guys will become millionaires because of the huge sales. They are already #1 in Clickbank for this niche.

That effectively means they can just start up again under another name with a new site and new business. They have the financial means to achieve all this. You can see they will in all probability be able to keep doing this repeatedly. It is an alarming thought. I would suggest taking a look at Easy and Quick Ways to Learn and Enjoy Guitar Playing

I am still not totally convinced that this is an out and out scam. I am not convinced that these people actually set out to blatantly scam everyone. I believe they are great businessman who got the main focus; the delivery of the Guitar Lessons wrong.

I think they did everything above board at the outset, but they grossly over-estimated their musical ability and their ability to teach guitar lessons. Not everyone is skilled to teach.

Many people may believe they are great guitar players. The reality in this case is they really suck. What I am convinced of; is that they do not deliver at all, in any way, shape, or form. Also they continue to rake in the big dollars regardless. They are aware now, but have failed to fix the problem yet.

It is a simple solution. They have the ability to pay for excellent qualified guitar tutors. Making new videos online is simple enough. However, these guys must have hugely inflated egos.

They continue on regardless. In the final analysis, this means they are scamming people and it is ongoing. maybe I will send them a hot email ha! :) I prefer to see students get good value; learn a lot and add to their skill set and above all enjoy the process of learning to play the guitar. There is always the...

"Hello everyone and thanks for the Comments. The burned Jimi Hendrix Guitar sold for $497,557.00"

Jimi Hendrix Comments On the Burning of his Guitars

These Stratocastors were Jimi's Most prized Possessions and an extension of himself

To understand Jimi Hendrix's views on burning and destroying his guitars, one must take into consideration that jimi's passion was music, more importantly, creating and playing his special brand of music.

Jimi's all encompassing passion of all passions; were indeed the instruments he drew inspiration from, the very vessels that delivered up his music, and interpretations to him. These instruments were an intrinsic part of Jimi's soul and his special Mojo.

When interviewed as to why he destroyed and set fire to his guitars, Jimi answered that these were not acts of violence, they were not acts of wanton destruction; but these were acts of love. Jimi was so moved with what his music gave to him that he sacrificed his greatest Love of all; his beloved Stratocastors, for Jimi his guitars were the ultimate sacrifice...

Jimi went on to say; that when you "sacrifice" or make a sacrifice (to the Gods) of something or anything, it is always something, of infinite passion, love, beauty, desire, and inherently priceless, and intrinsically invaluable.. Jimi therefore, sacrificed his musical heart, mind and soul.

"Sadly. Mitch Mitchell if you're not aware; was the drummer for Jimi Hendrix, Died this month In USA"

Music News Flash! Mitch Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix's Drummer Dies Suddenly!

The Passing of Another Great Musical Legend

Mitch Mitchell, the drummer from Jimi Hendrix Experience, Died aged 61 on November 12 of natural causes. He was found in his room at the Benson Hotel in Portland Oregon.

Mitch Mitchell played with Jimi Hendrix from the start of Hendrix's meteoric rise to fame in 1966 until Hendrix's untimely death in 1978. Buddy Miles was recognized in his own right for his songwritng talents and as a powerful soul vocalist. Buddy miles furthered his fame worldwide with his hit song entitled "Dem Changes."
