It's Easier To Win A Street Fight With Pressure Points!
...There's a lot of differing opinions about the best street fighting techniques to use in the case of a real attack. If you've ever had the bad luck of being involved in a real street fight though, then you already know the best street fighting techniques to use--- the ones that work!!! I remember being 18 years old, and having no idea how to street fight, when one night, I was jumped by three guys. I'm 36 now, and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was getting into my pickup truck when 3 guys come out of nowhere yelling at me, telling me that I had somehow, "messed with their car." I told them I had no idea what they were talking about. I turned my head for a split second, and the next thing I remember was my head being slammed into the side of my truck--- twice! I fell to the ground where I was kicked in the head and the stomache.
My right eye was killing me from being slammed into the truck, but other than that, I was mad. All the fear from when they first approached me was gone and I was now on the ground staring at one of their legs thinking to myself, "I'm going to tackle this guy and do god knows what to him, but I'm going to hurt him." Just about the time I was going to make my move, they ran off, and I never saw them again.
After I recovered and got home that night, I started to think clearly and realized that it was probably a good thing I wasn't able to fight back. I could have been seriously hurt. I had no idea how to street fight. What could I have really done to this guy? Punch him a few times until his 2 buddies beat the snot out of me? I had no street fighting techniques to speak of, whatsoever, and if I had fought back, I might not even be here to tell the tale.
Since then I have trained in different martial arts disciplines, and I have learned different street fighting techniques that I could have used to protect myself that night, and I probably could have gotten out of there WITHOUT a black eye and a goosegg on the back of my head the size of a tennis ball. Anyone who can relate knows that when you're in that situation, you need fighting techniques that: 1.)Don't require hours of practice, 2.)Are easy to remember under pressure, and 3.)It certainly can't hurt if their effects on your attacker are painful and downright nasty. You need to be able to end the fight fast----- plain and simple.

Step In--- Don't Back Away!!!
The first thing to remember in any self defense situation is to keep your weight on your front foot, not your back foot. Most people keep their weight on their back foot. They are taught to do this. Most martial artists put their weight on the back foot so they can kick with the front foot, and it's human nature to back away from someone trying to punch or attack us. Keeping your weight on your back foot allows you to back up easily. Believe it or not, in a street fight situation, and especially with martial arts pressure points, you want to step into an attacker, not back away. When you keep your weight on your front foot(and I know this is going to feel a little weird), but take a step with your front foot while keeping most of your weight on it, it allows you to practically leap into an attackers face, and that is not what he's expecting from you. He wants to come at you in a fury of punches and kicks and he wants to keep you backing up and on the defensive. By keeping your weight on the front foot and stepping in with it, allows you to "be in his face" which is completely unexpected, and if you know the vital targets to hit, you're going to have an extreme advantage over him.The best technique to use, of course, is not to be there in the first place, but assuming that in your case, the fight is unavoidable, there are 3 street fighting techniques that you need to have in your arsenal in order to street fight effectively. They involve attacking certain nerve centers and vital areas. These are known as martial arts pressure points. These are "sweet spots" that will take your attacker out of commission, although they may seem to be kind of strange or unorthodox, because they are lesser known targets, but trust me----- they work!

Which Martial Art Style Is Your Favorite
Technique 1: Groin Strikes
Martial Arts Pressure Points That Drive The Point Home!!!
I know what you're thinking. "Kicking someone in the groin?? That's some unorthodox street fighting techniques??" I'm not talking about just kicking or kneeing someone in the groin. I'm talking about attacking the groin in certain ways that will be so much more effective than simply kneeing someone in that vital area. This is a major "sweet spot" in every sense of the word. When you leap into an attacker as I've mentioned before, you will be in very close to his body in a second, where you can attack many martial arts pressure points. This can also easily lead to a grappling situation quickly. It's very easy to attack the groin from this position. You want to make a fist and use the top of it to attack the groin. If you make a fist and hold it out like you're going to punch somone, turn it to the side like a hammer fist. Where your thumb is, that's the top of your fist. This is the part of your fist that you want to use to attack the groin. You can pop the groin with this part of your fist quickly and easily. Talk about pain!Let's say, that your attacker has pushed you to the ground and you're on your knees or at least on one knee. Again, using this strike can be extremely effective. Also, from this position you can use your fist normally, and give an uppercut to the groin. You can also use your entire forearm to smack the groin in an upward movement from this position.

This is a great video on how to perform the groin strike techniques effectively.
Never Freeze In A Fight Again!!!
Have you ever felt frozen in a fight before? Like you couldn't move in a dangerous situation to protect yourself or someone important to you. I've been there and I can show you how to never feel that fear again. I can help you eliminate the fear of getting hurt, being cut, fear of guns, knives--- Fear Of Anything!!!Learn More Technique 2: Juggular Notch
Martial Arts Pressure Points Of Choice!!!
This can be a lethal move and you need to be extremely careful with this one. If you're being attacked and you know this person is going to kill you, then you may need something like this. This technique won't kill most likely, but if used incorrectly, it can, so again, a word of caution here. Right below a person's windpipe and at the base of the neck there is a small indentation that you can easily see and feel with your hand. This is called the juggular notch. If you drive your finger into that notch it causes a gag reflex, and the person will start to cough and sputter. This is the pressure point we're aiming at with this technique. This technique needs to be done from close up and most street fights end up in a grappling situation anyway, so this technique can be a good one to use. Also, if you leap in as with the groin strike technique, it allows the juggular notch to be an easy but nasty one to use. As you come in close to his body, you want to drive your fingers into this area and down and behind the collar bone. In and down. This takes all the fight out of him while all he can do is gag, cough and sputter. I was sparring once and my partner decided to do this as gently as he could(he wasn't supposed to, but he did it anyway. Partly messing around and partly to see what it would do). Trust me, all of the fight in you will be gone. Technique 2: Juggular Notch
This video will show you the best way to execute this extremely effective move.
Technique 3: Nikkyo Arm Lock
Martial Arts Pressure Points That Literally "Drop" Your Attacker
I have to admit, this one is one of my favorites. This comes from the martial art style of Aikido, and this technique will drop your attacker like a hot rock. Now there are beautiful take downs that can be done with this technique where you drop the person, spin them around your body, and pin them which is called Nikkyo Tenkan, but I can't teach you that in this article. To get the full effect and to be able to pin someone with this technique, you need to study Aikido under the guide of a professional. This technique is one that does need to be practiced, but it's not difficult to master the ability to simply put the arm lock on someone, drop them, and put yourself in complete control of the situation. Believe me, this street fighting technique sounds a lot more complicated to read about than it actually is to do it. When you're in a grappling situation or otherwise in close, one or both of his hands are going to be exposed. So, let's say for the sake of arguement that he's grabbing your shirt or the left side of your head with his right hand. A completely normal grappling situation. Reach over and grab his right hand with your right hand. Turn his right hand slightly so that his palm is facing to the right and stick his hand in that position to your left shoulder, which is the side that he was grabbing anyway. Now make sure his arm is bent at the elbow. When you're in close it should be already, but you can't hit this nerve center if his arm is completely straight. If for some reason, his arm is not bent, just reach up with your left hand and push in the crook of his arm, which will cause it to bend. With his right hand turned so the palm is facing to the right, you're holding it to your left shoulder and his arm is bent, all you have to do now is take a bow. Just simply bow, and you will trigger the nerve in his forarm, and he will hit the ground. The video you can see on this shows how the street fighting technique is done from a wrist grab. This is just to show you how the technique works and where the pressure point is. Most street fights aren't going to end up with someone grabbing your wrist. Once you understand how the technique works, you can adjust it to use it in a variety of ways, such as the way I'm suggesting you do it here. Again, the take down takes practice and should be done in a professional dojo. Aikido is one of those arts where the techniques look easy to do, but don't be fooled, they are harder than they look to perform correctly. This is one technique, that takes some practice, but a minimal amount to be able to use. Once you're in control of the person and they have dropped to the ground, you can do any number of strikes, kicks to the groin, hammer fist to the nose, etc.
There you have it. These are 3 of the nastiest martial arts pressure points and street fighting techniques that you can use to end a fight quickly. They shouldn't be your first line of defense but are extremely effective when your life is on the line. Remember, however, that the absolute best technique to use in a street fight, is never to get into one in the first place.
Technique 3: Nikkyo Arm Grab
This is a pretty good video on how to execute the Nikkyo Arm Grab Technique. Although, the sound is a little low.

- Unfortunately by the time I learned these type of techniques I had already engaged in street fighting. It was the usual punching and kicking. Those things are effective but learning pressure point and also tuite techniques I believe it to be a better way than mere brute force and speed. If you wish you can check a powerful realization I had about this that I shared in my lens.
