Lemon Martinis

It's not just Lemon Drops.

One of my favorite Martinis is the Lemon Drop. This is a popular West Coast drink that originated in San Francisco in the 1970's. If you need to relax a couple of these tasty drinks will do the trick. Here is the classic Lemon Drop recipe:

Lemon Drop

1 1/2 Ounces Vodka

1/2 Ounce Triple Sec

1 teaspoon superfine sugar (instantly dissolving if available)

3/4 Ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice

Fill a Martini Shaker with Ice and add the rest of the ingredients.
Shake and then strain into a sugar rimmed Martini Glass
Garnish with a twist of Lemon Peel

Serve, Drink, and Repeat.

Another variation on Lemon flavored Martinis is the Lemon Meringue Martini. I have 2 recipes for this sweet concoction.

Lemon Meringue Martini

2 Ounces Limoncello Lemon Liqueur

1 Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice

I Ounce Simple Syrup

1 Part Licor 43

3 Parts Heavy Cream

Mix the Limoncello, lemon juice and simple syrup with ice in a cocktail shaker for 5 seconds.

Strain into Martini Glass coated with whipped cream and grahm cracker crust edge.

Mix the Licor 43 and heavy cream in a shaker. Using the back of a tablespoon placed against the side of the glass, slowly pour to layer on top. It will look just like a lemon meringue pie in a glass and taste like lemon meringue with a kick.

Lemon Meringue Pie Martini

1/2 Ounce Vanilla Vodka

2 Ounces Triple Sec

3 Ounces half-and-half cream

1/2 Ounce sweet and sour mix or lemonade concentrate

Combine ingredients in Martini Shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Martini Glass. Garnish with Whipped Cream and Lemon Slice.

If anyone has tried these recipes I love to know which one you prefer. You can share your preference in my guestbook below.

My personal favorite is the Blue Martini,

    its:
    4 parts vodka
    1 part Blue Curacao Liqueur
1 part lime juice (or less, I usually use half a part!)
