Matchbox Twenty (or MB20, MBT, matchbox twenty, originally spelled Matchbox 20) is a rock band formed in Orlando, Florida by Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette and Brian Yale. Their debut album was released in 1996 and they have sold more than thirty seven million records during their career. They have released a total of 4 albums on the Atlantic Record label, 3 of them certified platinum and all peaking on the billboard charts above #10. They have also released three videos and numerous singles.

Who they are

A grunge rock band, Matchbox 20 formed in 1996 by Paul Doucette (who came up with the name of the band) along with Rob Thomas, Brian yale, John Stanley and John Goff formed the band after recruiting Adam Gaynor and Kyle Cook to join with them.

Upcoming

Matchbox 20 has enjoyed some success releasing 4 albums and 3 videos and have enjoyed 19 singles which have been recognized in various categories of US music (appearing in the top 50 in the category).

Their Spring 2008 tour is scheduled to be opened by Mute Math, and rumors are talking about another album to be released during 2009.
