McGrail Vineyards
Livermore Valley Wine Country
The McGrail family has been selling their Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to Livermore wineries since 1999, and began bottling their own wine about five years later. From the beginning, McGrail Vineyards has sought to produce the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Livermore Valley. The vineyard uses a technique called green harvesting, which means that some of the grapes on each vine are discarded before they ripen. Once ripened, the lower quality grapes are also discarded, leaving only the very best grapes for the crush. These grapes are then aged in French, American, and Russian Oak barrels for several months. Finally, all three barrels are blended to produce the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in the Valley. The wines produced from the McGrail fruit have been outstanding, and many have been awarded medals in competition.
McGrail Vineyards is located at 5600 Greenville Road in Livermore, California.

More than 500 people attended the McGrail Vineyards tasting room grand opening in April 2008. The much anticipated tasting room is an old barn conversion that was under construction for about a year and a half. The building is gorgeous, with high ceilings, picture windows, and a long bar for wine tasting. Sports fans will be delighted at the presence of two flat screen television sets—at least one is always tuned to sports.The tasting room and barrel room are available for weddings, corporate events, and birthdays.
