She is a Strong Pro-lifer

This is a very personal position that one can not challenge. You either believe a woman has a right to decide what happens within her own body or you feel she doesn't.

Her stance on this social issue is a clear indication of her conservative beliefs. She obviously practices her position being the mother of a child with down syndrome, a job unto itself.

Just adding to the many questions surrounding the Palin decision, it has been confirmed that Bristol Palin, the alleged mother of "Trig" Palin, is currently pregnant.

Apparently her mother's "Abstinence Only" position does not apply to her own children.

Did the Mccain Campaign Vet Sarah Palin for more than 5 minutes?

Sarah Palin released this information to calm rumors regarding her own recent pregnancy and the theory that Bristol was actually the mother.

Hurricane Gustav is certainly taking the press away from this and the Republicans are using the hurricane as an excuse to avoid any spotlights.

"Palin under investigation for trying to have her sister's husband fired during a divorce"

What's your view

We can all have different beliefs and principals and intelligently discuss them without attacking the character of our opponent.

Will Sarah Palin's announcement that her un-wed teenage daughter is pregnant affect John Mccain's chance at the Presidency

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

Yes, it affects her character

janet says:

America move on.There are much more pressing issues.

JudyDunn says:

I don't know if it will affect his electability, but I think it was wrong of both of them to let this happen. It is wrong for her to run for V.P. and subject her daughter to this type of scrutiny. It was interesting to watch the expression on Bristol's face as she listened to her mother talk about her family.

bacteriapimp says:

I don't care about her unwed daughter,I do care that she wants to control what all our daughters might do in the same situation if they might become with child because of rape etc or if they and their doctor thought that because of the mothers health an abortion might need to be an option. I don't need Sarah Palin to make that decision for everyone. I care that she could sit in her church and listen to sermons about Isreali jews getting what they deserved as gods revenge for their not believing in him. I don't want a radical christian evangelist a heart beat away from the presidency

Sad Republican says:

It's really a disaster and if it where a Dem the self rightous would be all over it.

kab says:

It should! I don't judge her daughter for getting pregnant, or even Palin's parenting skills before it, however Palin's recent actions are, I believe, despicable. Palin knew her daughter was pregnant. She knew that the media would not let that story slide. And, yet, she chose to accept the VP ticket. She put her daughter under this scrutiny. She put this added pressure and guilt on her daughter. She did that. Despicable!

Lumpkins says:

This is hypocracy in action, Mccain is definitely losing it. I bet his little temper is ripping his campaign management a new one.

No, what happens in the President's or Vice President's personal life is not a political issue

dtpost says:

Check your own family history before judging someone else's.

Dems Beigernant says:

Although this should not be an issue as regards the office, whatever the media tends to focus on will be spun into an issue. The flavor of the day is that Sara Palin is somehow an unfit mother or parent because she chooses to support her daughter's decision to go through with the pregnancy and marry the father. If someone were to mention the fact that Barac O'bama was born a bastard child, they would say it was unfair and blah, blah, blah...and so it goes.

Basically, it's a ploy to distract people from national issues and the very real potential that heads will roll as a result of a McCain/Palin making reforms in government. For those that are really about "Change"...this is the best ticket around.

Lin. says:

Sarah Palin is a great person me knowing her personaly and I think that she is great with her kids. I have played with them at Christmas parties and get togethers and I still think she raises her kids right even if your teenage daughter is pregnant. Bristol is a great girl she will be a good mom.

joshsmom says:

Did Bill Clinton's cigar issue affect his?

Bill says:

Let he that is without sin cast the first stone. Perhaps it is time for the left wing to put down their stones, especially those that are aimed at a 17 year old child!

J_bargains says:

No. John McCain's chance at the Presidency will be affected because he is not thorough and did a poor job of vetting.

17yr old Bristol Palin daughter of Sarah Palin is Pregnant

You be the judge

It has been announced by the Governess herself that her daughter Bristol is in fact Pregnant.

Keeping with fairness, I have removed the rumours post regarding Sarah Palin feigning pregnancy.

This is a point that will not go away and unfortunately the daughter will be the one who is hurt the most by it.

She is said to be marrying the father of the child who, until it was taken down, said on his Myspace.com page that he did not want children.

As far as I am concerned the daughter is not the issue, nor the boyfriend. It is the misjudgements of Sarah Palin.
  • Allowing a 17yr to get married is ridiculous. The couple is barely old enough to fully understand love, let alone raise a family together. Give it time and see what happens, make a committment to raise the child together regardless of the marriage.

  • Sarah Palin boarded a flight to Alaska after her water broke in Dallas, Tx, knowing full well that late term pregnant women are not even supposed to fly.

  • Sarah Palin has also accepted the VP nomination when she has a small child with down syndrome who is in most need of her constant care and her family is in the middle of a flurry over the unplanned pregnancy.

I can understand finishing out her term as Governor because she was elected to that position and owes it to the people of Alaska. To accept the possibility that you could become VP of the US seems to suggest Sarah Palin's mind is on her own ambitions and not her family values.

Here are some links to various news and blog coverage of the different "Palin Pregnancy Scandal" rumours:

"She reformed the budget of Alaska by selling the state jet on Ebay"

Well she tried to sell it on Ebay

Palin could not sell the Jet on Ebay and ended up selling it at a loss to a third party.

The effort and concept was good, but she needs to stop stretching the truth.

She opposes same sex marriage

Although she admits to having "gay" friends. She is opposed to their having the same rights as straight couples.

She does feel that "gays and lesbians" should not be discriminated against.

John McPherson...you're an idiot. You have no standard to speak of regarding life that is of any value. Although I am not a proponent of pro-life, your arguments are totally ludicrous.

How can someone who is for capital punishment not also be for following through with a pregnancy when their health is not endangered? If someone murders someone, they have not only shown total disregard for the one whose life they extinguished, but also for their own. They have forfeited their right to live by their own decisions and actions.
