PASS YOUR USMLE STEP 2 CS ON YOUR FIRST TRY!
The USMLE Step 2 CS, NBOME Comlex 2-PE and the CSA all use standardized patients to test medical students and graduates on their ability to gather information from patients, perform physical examinations, and communicate their findings to patients and colleagues.
This is the first product on the market for the newly instituted OSCE and CSA simulated patient exams--ideal for anyone preparing for USMLE Step 2. Comlex 2-PE or ECFMG exams. This book has 50 cases that test your physical examination, communication, and diagnostic skills by working with actors posing as standardized patients.
It is written in a way that anyone can help you study for the exam. The checklists are written with patient responses so family members or friends can knowledgably play the role of the patient so you can make your diagnosis.
This is a great tool that will help you sharpen your clinical skills. It will also benefit 1st and 2nd year medical students who are interested in testing their clinical skills prior to their annual OSCEs.
THIS IS SIMPLY THE BEST BOOK ON THE MARKET!
Listen to what medical students are saying about this book!
It's simply the best book for the buck!!!!The workbook and the cases gave me the confidence to tackle a variety of clinical problems and cases from the simple to the more complex ones....Excellent review book for CSA, especially for medical graduates with limited clinical experience. If you don't have a copy, GET ONE!
This book was a tremendous help for passing the exam- it is a must read for anybody taking this exam. I managed to complete every testing station, on average, 10 minutes ahead of time. Couldn't have done it so fast without the help of the book.
This is the only book available with 50 clinical cases organized case by case, with check lists of mandatory questions a doctor must ask for each specific set of signs & symptoms presented by a patient.
Having no experience with standardized patients, I almost enrolled in a review course ($1,000++)!! I luckily found this book, took the CSA, recently got my results - I passed! The practice cases helped me tackle the actual csa cases in half the time needed.
I have friends who enrolled in $1000+ review courses for the CSA. I myself watched the video and read the info they sent, then went through this book and Swanson's Family Practice review. These and the clinical experience I've had from medical school gave me the confidence and tools to pass the CSA, and now I'm in residency in the US. It walks you through the thinking process you need to pass the CSA, but you yourself have to be sensitive between the differences between the CSA and OSCE.
