Medieval and renaissance time clearly is one the most celebrated eras in history. There were kings, queens and knights riding in galloping horses fighting with shining broad swords and slaying fire breathing dragons.

Here you can learn a lot about renaissance costumes and wardrobes which will fascinate you on how wonderful this period of history was. Your kids can enjoy a variety of medieval costumes and accessories that can turn them to medieval characters in an instant.

Making the Most Out of a Renaissance Faire

Your typical Renaissance Faire is where you will see a vast array of costumes from the mid-1300s up to the mid-1600s.

The Renaissance period was dated back to the late 13th century, where all the kings, knights and horses are on the battle field fighting for there lands from the conqueror's army. On most Faires, you usually see those shining armours worn on all sizes, since the armours, swords and shields are the favorites. Matched with Old english accents and language, you feel like you are reliving the medieval era.

First off, you should pick the best costume you can think of. You want to be dressed appropriately so you could really be part of the event. You can get cheap renaissance costumes online if you are having a hard time finding the right one.

By the time you are there in the faire, I guarantee, there never is a dull moment. Since you are already dressed for the event, all you need to do is have the right attitude for the character you have chosen to wear. You have to somehow act out as if you are in the the medieval period.

Your experience is not complete if you don't learn some old english words and show them off to whoever you are talking to. So, here are some basic 16th century terms you can use:

*Thou = You (Nominative Form, as in: "You are a pig!" / "Thou art a swine!")

*Thee = You (Objective Form, as in: "I love you!" / "I love thee!")

*Thy = Your (Possessive Form, as in: "Your eyes are beautiful." / "Thy eyes are
beautiful.")

*Methinks = "I think"

*Zounds = "God's wounds" (Used as an oath or an expletive.)

*Huzzah = "Hooray!!!" (When in doubt, just shout "Huzzah," everyone else at the
Faire does!)

With that and everything you have learned, you are all set to enjoy and make the most out of the faire.
