The Body is a Canvas
Megan Fox also likes to show her creative side on her skin with personal messages and images that hold meaning to her. Here is a collection of her tattoos to study and possibly inspire.
Gilded Butterflies
Megan Fox has Old English text on her right scapula reading:"We will all laugh at gilded butterflies."
This is a reference, not a complete quote (although pretty close), from Act V, Scene III of Shakespeare's tragedy King Lear.
Here's a look-see at the tattoo:

Here is the full quote by King Lear to his daughter, Cordelia:
No, no, no, no! Come, let's away to prison.
We two alone will sing like birds i' th' cage.
When thou dost ask me blessing, I'll kneel down
And ask of thee forgiveness. So we'll live,
And pray, and sing, and tell old tales, and laugh
At gilded butterflies, and hear poor rogues
Talk of court news; and we'll talk with them too-
Who loses and who wins; who's in, who's out-
And take upon 's the mystery of things,
As if we were God's spies; and we'll wear out,
In a wall'd prison, packs and sects of great ones
That ebb and flow by th' moon.
Little Girls With Broken Hearts
Megan Fox is obviously a fan of stringing words together with her own personal meaning.Like the large Old English text on her left rib cage.

On the inside of Megan's left wrist is a tribal tattoo of two waves entwined like a yin and yang symbol. This tattoo has a bit of color but looks like black ink from a distance. Here's a look-see at the tattoo:

Voted the Sexiest Woman in the World by Readers of For Him Magazine.
Strength
On the back of her neck just below the hairline Megan has a black ink tattoo of the Chinese symbol of strength in calligraphy. It's a simple tattoo with a strong meaning. Here's what the tattoo would look like:

Some of you leave some great comments but they never see the light of day because you choose to add the "F" or "S" word. If you can't make your point without using it then no one is going to take you seriously anyway. Especially in this format.
I use swear words in the day to day all the time so no I'm not a prude but when it comes to this lens swear words can turn this lens into a "R" rated one which is something I don't want.
So here's the deal. Tidy up your language and your comment gets posted. It's as simple as that. Thank you for your cooperation.

Just stopping by to see the #2 lens. Honestly, I've never heard of Megan Fox. But I really like the lens, and I see plenty of people have lots to say about this lady's tattoos. I've enjoyed the guestbook comments almost as much as the lens! Great job.

im not going to have them when i go join him and my family members
you only live once
so do what you want and dont regret anything but the chances you didnt take
if your such a believer why judge why question why people do the things they do
god forgives and doesnt judge
maybe you should be more like the one your praising.
piercings and tattoos
are art and are an outlet for some people a way of expressing yourself
i have two tattoos and a good many piercings and dont plan on stopping

Thanks for the summary, lots of good tattoo info here. I was always wondering what some of hers said and meant. She's so beautiful!

in reply to realist No offence, but if you do a search for Megan Fox you will see that she does indeed have the above tattoos. You can even see them during her live interviews on youtube. There is no photographic conspiracy going on to make the world think that Megan has tattoos.

What might be a rose today could look like a palm tree in 20 years. For those that are truly spiritual and believe that God gave us this body to use on earth, why do something that is tantamount to spray painting graffiti onto the side of a building. It is a choice to desecrate ones own body in the name of art but why subject yourself to an artist that revels in mediocrity. Unless you have Michelangelo holding the needle, the tat is only going to look good in your mind. Benjamin Royce's comment about a friend that had "Air Supply" emblazoned on his chest pretty much says it all. Think before you ink!

It is interesting to me to see how people view themselves with or without tattooes. I choose to not have them, I have friends that are artists that use peoples skin as an amazing canvas. Do I agree with what they do? Does not matter, if I do. If they are strong in what they think and believe more power to them!

You may as well add "you are not your thoughts". Your beliefs, your self image define who you are. If you don't have any of this, you have nothing. Unfortunately, we live in a materialistc world, and some of those materialistic items do define who you are. I am going to guess you are a libertarian Humanistic type person, obviously with a tinge of religion because of your version of the body is a temple crap. Tattoos are just another form of art on a different form of canvas that has been around as long as the primitive etchings in stone walls. Open your eyes and realize that you've put yourself in the category of hypocritical close-mindedness because of your "you are not your beliefs" and than imposing your personal beliefs of tattoos being "primitive and unimaginative" on others.

Dear, dear, Megan The quote about tattoos being a f--- you to others is a very revealing statement. IMHO tattoos DO say something about the wearer, but not what they THINK is being said. Styles and fashion come and go, but tattoos are soooo permanent. My teenage son had planned to get a tattoo in 2005, so I invited a friend over (who had been tattooed in the 1970's) to show my son his tattoo * he opened his shirt and emblazoned across his chest were the words: "AIR SUPPLY RULES" in 2 inch high letters!! My son decided against a tattoo. He may have changed his mind now, as an adult. He's a US Marine. Also sorry to say Megan, but your "Marilyn Monroe" looks more like a "Faye Dunaway", and thru the years, when your skin elasticity and muscle tone change with age, She may end up a "Phyllis Diller".! Good Luck in The Future...

Getting ink is a primitive and unimaginative form of self-expression. You are not your body, you are not your beliefs, you are not any title that has been bestowed upon you, and you are not the clothes you wear or the car you drive. Getting ink is just another example of identifying (misidentifying, that is) yourself with something superficial. Even if your child has passed away and you decide to get a tattoo of his or her face on your shoulder, it is still superficial. If you truly loved and still do love the lost child, you don't need a tattoo to remember what once was. Wake up, people! Create something! Don't just inscribe something into your skin and think you are doing something.

Megan Fox is a very beautiful woman, and the tattoos don't change that. For most people,a tattoo represents a period in their life that they want to be reminded of,so when other people look at a tattoo,it usually has some meaning to the wearer that you are not even aware of.I think she looks hot with the ink!

Judge not, least ye be judged. So many people commenting on a complete stranger, making judgments. Do any of you know her? Pagan, you are incredibly shallow. When you see beauty in a woman it is only skin deep, apparently. You must not be dating Phi Beta Kappas, lest they have tattoos! A woman with a generous heart, kind spirit, and kindred soul is not in the running with any ink on her bod, which you would lose out on. If the woman is not hurting anyone, let her do with her body as she wishes. Is there anyone judging Pagan on how he spends his money this is a true sign of beauty - perhaps more on charities? p.s. I'm a successful, attractive woman who is sleeved, not a tramp, an adoring mother of two, who is conscious of what's on the inside of people. I used to get grossed out by guys who liked me only because I was considered pretty on the outside. They weren't interested what was beyond that, Pagan.

People get tattoos for various reasons. Many people I know who have tattoos, including myself, do not get them to be unique or stand out from the rest. Many people have tattoos in places which are not seen by the general public. A tattoo means something different for everyone. Some get them for religious reasons, some get them to honor the death or birth of a loved one, some get them because they really want an amazing piece of art on their skin, some get them because they are drunk, some get them to symbolize something they have gone through in their life they wish to remember. Whatever the reason, no right or wrong. Just remember, we only live once and we are only here a short time. People should not be so concerned about what other people do. Everyone dances to their own song. So if you want a tattoo get one. If you don't then don't. When you take your last breath and you look back on life you don't regret the things you did in life, you regret the things you didn't do.

in reply to Carl while agree with what you're saying for the majority of people who have taken the inked leap, i don't feel it captures everyone. for instance, i have "dolor hic tibi proderit olim" on my left forearm. i have several other tattoos that are all well hidden, but this one...which translates to "someday this pain will be of use to you," is out in the open for one purpose...to remind me that everything happens for a reason and to use everything as a building block. it's there for me.
