Textiles Tutorial Calendar
I made one before but it was fairly simple and, because Lulu's prices are probably a little more than your usual calendar, I want to make something that gives a little more than the dates and a pretty picture.
I decided one cool thing I could do was make a project for each month but include instructions of how to make that project.
This lens is a collection of my brainstorms for this Melted Fabrics calendar.

Calendar Layout
Quick Idea using one of the pieces I made years ago.

This is an initial idea for how I might create each page. I think I want to try something a little more dynamic than this however.
Once I create each piece I'm going to see how I can play around with the layouts.
January
Janus and Resolutions.
A lot of people hate resolutions because they make them feel bad when they don't complete them.
All I can say is, how do you know what you want out of life if you don't explore your thoughts and set some goals?
Follow me in the lens below as I make a wall hanging where I can keep my goals for the year visible.

February
Love yourself!
I don't really want to go the Hallmark Valentines Day card, chocolates and flowers route with February.
Before someone else can love you, you have to love yourself.
Celebrate your faults! That's my plan with this self-portrait project. I'm going to celebrate my silver hairs and those excess pounds and I'm also going to depict other things I love about me- like my creativity and my love of small furry animals and other stuff I haven't thought of yet!

Big Crazy Hat
A doodle for March.

The second idea of a bird's nest would be more appropriate for March and Spring.
I like the idea of just making a huge crazy hat that's bursting with seeds and eggs and leaves.

Peacock Shawl
A Wrap for Juno.

I designed the above wrap for my "How to Make a Textiles Wrap" pdf booklet and quite like the idea of making a real one. I might add in some more summery bits to make it a bit different though- like some flowers between the feathers perhaps.

December
Lots of Pockets for Treats.
When I was younger my best friends had a fabric advent calendar with 25 little pockets and each day- on the right numbered day- the Christmas faeries would leave them tiny toys or sweets (apart from the days they forgot and then they'd send apologetic notes in teeny tiny handwriting).
Find out about my advent calendar in the lens below.
