Mens Breast Cancer

Few people are aware that breast cancer may occur in men, probably due to it accounting for only around 1% of all breast cancers.

In 2007 it was estimated that in America men's breast cancer cases totalled approximately 2000 compared to about 178,000 for women.

Out of those 2000 cases of men's breast cancer the survival rate is comparable with that of women suffering from breast cancer and depends largely on when it was diagnosed.

Men of any age can develop breast cancer, but it is usually detected in men aged between 60 and 70.

Please do not delay in seeking advice from a qualified licensed medical professional about treatment if you believe you may have cancer. The information here is provided for educational and informational purposes only, and is not intended to be a substitute for the diagnosis, treatment and advice of a qualified licensed medical professional.

The Types Of Breast Cancer Found In Men

If few people are aware of male breast cancer the number that know that there are several types is much smaller still.

These are the various types of breast cancer which can affect men:

Infiltrating ductal carcinoma: This is where the cancer has spread beyond the cell lining ducts in the breast. Most men with breast cancer have this type of cancer.

Ductal carcinoma in situ: These are abnormal cells which are found in the lining of a duct; also known as intraductal carcinoma.

Inflammatory breast cancer: The type of cancer in which the breast looks red and swollen and feels warm to the touch.

Paget's disease of the nipple: A tumour which has grown from the ducts beneath the nipple onto the surface of the nipple itself.

Lobular carcinoma in situ (where abnormal cells found in one of the lobes or sections of the breast), this sometimes occurs in women, has not been seen in men.

Natural Cancer Treatment

For anyone who has discovered that they have cancer, whether it's women and men with breast cancer or any type, there's always that big question: Is there a natural cancer treatment that avoids the usual types of treatment thrown at us by the medical profession?

Here's a web site run by Karon Beattie, author of "Natural Cancer Treatments That Work", which claims to show "over 350 gentle and non-toxic natural and alternative treatments. Over 2,000 testimonials from people who have used these treatments to beat their cancer."

Just three of those 350 natural treatments include:

* The 3 week cancer help program Designed by a Ph.D Biochemist.

The biochemist who developed the program says cancer involves environmental toxins and toxins produced in the human body by certain parasites, fungi and bacteria. Unlike other research, she does not enumerate dozens of "possible contributors" to cancer, but names the exact factors that can be found in every case of cancer, in every tumor. And, more importantly, what you can do about it.

* A 2 ingredient diet about which an oncologist said "this diet is far and away the most successful anti-cancer diet in the world". He further claimed that the inventor of the diet (a six-time Nobel Prize nominee) "demonstrated to my initial disbelief but lately, to my complete satisfaction in my practice is: cancer is easily curable, the treatment is dietary/lifestyle, the response is immediate; the cancer cell is weak and vulnerable..."

* A gentle and safe NIH-approved therapy that makes chemo drugs 10,000 more powerful!

So you only need a micro dose. That means you avoid the toxic side-effects of standard chemotherapy.

Saving Jack: A Man's Struggle With Breast Cancer

Saving Jack: A Man's Struggle With Breast Cancer

Saving Jack is a moving first-person account of a man's experience with breast cancer. In a tale of challenge and adversity, Jack Willis relates his personal experience, from first feeling a pea-sized nodule in his breast to being diagnosed, from mastectomy and chemotherapy treatments to positive prognosis. And in telling candidly of his struggles, he conveys his renewed appreciation of life.

While there is no shortage of books devoted to helping women with breast cancer, this is the first to address the apprehensions faced by men who contract the disease. As he describes the physical and emotional roller coaster on which he suddenly found himself, Willis shares with readers--especially other new cancer victims--some of the things he and his family didn't know about cancer when he was diagnosed.

In a compelling story of faith, fear, and sometimes just getting through one long day of chemo, Willis shows that cancer is a family disease, affecting spouses and children as well as victims. For anyone whose family has been devastated by this frightening diagnosis, Saving Jack offers a ray of hope--and for men who face this unexpected disease, it offers a much needed source of strength.

Nice Mens Breast Cancer lens. I like the idea of natural and alternative treatments. The mainstream way is quite harsh. ~Music Resource~
