Chanson écrite par Rod Temperton, racontant les pires situations que peut ressentir une personne en regardant un thriller (un film d'horreur). La chanson est sortie en single en 1984, suite au succès phénoménal du clip vidéo, soit deux ans après la sortie de l'album et il en fut le dernier extrait. La chanson est surtout connue pour son clip révolutionnaire, d'une durée inhabituelle (14 minutes alors que la chanson dure 5:58) réalisé par John Landis. Ses effets spéciaux et la présence d'un scénario mais aussi la chorégraphie finale réalisée par Michael Peters et par l'artiste lui-même ont fait rentrer Thriller dans la littérature (sa danse est appelée Thriller Dance).
