    I haven't read these yet, I just found out about them through this lens but I have to say I really like the concept of as close to historical accuracy as possible series with protagonists who have professions that allow the reader to experience a wide swath of the society of the times through the protagonists.

    The latest book in the series is now THE OATH, available from 7th July from Simon & Schuster. The previous title was THE BISHOP MUST DIE which is out in paperback from Headline on 8 August - and thanks for the article!

    I haven't read any of Michael Jeck's books, in fact, I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of him!

    I like historical whodunnits though, and I'll put him on my list of "books to read" :)

    BTW, you've spelt "Michael" wrong in a few places ;)
