I am so excited, when I first saw this advertised on NBC;
I nearly fell out of my chair with JOY!!!

First of all to be seeing
Michael Flatley "live" on Tv

again is just beyond thrilling,
I didn't Know he was "hosting it"
until I went to his Main Website,
and then I also checked on NBC.COM;

So its all true, I cannot wait!

My first time seeing Michael Flatley dance was during a very bad time for me;
It was in April of 1997, My Mother had just passed away and I was in a deep depression, I was in the bowels of pure hell. I wanted no contact with my friends or family after we had buried my Mom, I just wanted to be left alone, Thankfully I was not working during this time I had been in a (MVA) in Aug of 1996 and I was still off work from that; Anyway as I said I was in the deep bowels of pure hell after having just lost my Mother and previously in Sept of 1995 I had lost my brother so yeah I was really really depressed and wanted nothing to do with anyone or anything;

So one night as I did many times during the day and evening I was just sitting in my chair at home, the phone is off and I have my remote in my hand flipping through channel after channel after channel seeing nothing, hearing nothing just in a pure (zombie-fied) mode; I had landed on a channel that I rarely if ever watched anything on at that time period nothing they had interested me but the remote landed on this channel my local PBS station in St. Louis, MO and what caught my attention was the most wonderful amazing drumbeat I had ever heard so I sat there wondering in my brain fogged mind, what is this? This gorgeous Man cam flying out of the corner of the stage and he went blazing at full tilt full length of that stage all the while tapping out this amazing beat, I sat there in a dazed state of mind,
who the hell is that?? and What the hell am I watching??
I WAS BLOWN AWAY! This Blonde headed Beautiful handsome man just had me in a dazed state of mind I had no idea what the heck I was watching, but I sat
there mesmerized and then more dancers all tapping out this wonderful sound this wonderful pounding beat , it was making my head spin and my heart was pounding along with them as they tapped and pounded the floor and made such a beautiful
sound and they all moved as one and then the number was over: I just sat there as the crowd cheered and was going nuts....My mind was screaming with joy, I could feel myself smiling and wondering, what the hell am I watching??
They went to like a "commerical" thing its where they go to the PBS Station and talk about the show they are airing, they said it was RiverDance starring Michael Flatley and I thought Oh yeah I have a tv guide here somewhere so I'm going through a stack of unopened mail I find the show and read when its to "air" again so I could see the whole show...WOW!! I felt so "alive" so awake and kinda was just "shaking" really Like I had just woken up suddenly and I was breathing again.

In a day or so the show was on again and I got to watch it, I did have the "sense"
about me to have a tape in the VCR so I could record it, which I did and I watched
the whole Show just again totally mesmerized at the speed of which this man could tap out a number "Irish Step Dancing" had indeed taken on a whole new meaning for me I always liked the Old traditional steps and seeing them perform on shows or movies or whatever, but THIS was so different it was so much bigger, so much more dramtic, and fiery and exciting, yes EXCITING in a way I'd never known before;
That was my first time at Seeing MIchael Flatley in RiverDance and It just blew my mind!! I was hooked;

Not having any internet access or a computer even I had no way of finding out
more about him but I was on a mission now;
Back then they had what was called WEBTV, and I went to Sears and bought
myself a Web Tv...only downfall for that was when I first had my WEBTV, any
access to the internet was a LONG DISTANCE CHARGE on your PHONE BILL..
uh oh!! My Phone Bill was getting larger and larger by the month (G)!

This also was the time when Michael Flatley was on Tour here in the USA
with his troupe in a show called LORD OF THE DANCE
Oh My God he has a new show out, WOW! I was excited! And from the internet
sites and my local PBS station again I got to see his new show "LORD OF THE DANCE" on PBS and once again I was just blown away by the beauty, the speed of Michael when he tapped, and the music oh the music once again was so lovely so perfect for each number, it all just took my breath away; Loved it!

There is so much more to tell here but I am saving that story for another lens/page I will be making when time allows for now though I just want to get this one
finished and published in time for the new show to start here;

Michael is an Excellent Flautist!!!

I was there in London for this Show as we all thought it was going to
be Michael's Last performance, he was preparing for Knee surgery,
when the encores ended, and Michael disappears through the drop door
all that is left on stage are his shoes in the spotlight! That nearly killed
us all that was there seeing this "live" because like I said he was due to have
knee surgery and it was said this was his last performance. But I knew
in my heart that Michael Flatley was not finished as a dancer by any means
I knew he was going to still create numbers and such but I just felt that he was
not finished as a performer and turns out I was right (G)!
After a few years he came back with another show
"CELTIC TIGER"
I never got to see this show "live" when it was on tour, my health had
gotten worse and I just didn't feel like traveling to see it nor did I have
the money to go see it, but I would have loved to go one more time
and see Michael Flatley perform "live" I have the DVD and I love it,
but there is NOTHING like seeing this show "live" , seeing Michael
dance "live" is just like nothing on this earth, not to me and not to
millions of his die hard fans either. We love you Michael, and we always will!

What Michael doesnt' tell you that after he finished playing this special number in the show, he says he can see his Mother in the audience with tears in her eyes, but
Michael also had tears in his eyes as well, yes we were close enough to see them
on his beautiful face, but in this clip you really can't tell but he was that moved and so was the audience. To Hear Michael play Whispering Winds even to this day I still get "goose bumps", and I still get tears in my own eyes like I have right now while trying to type this out; (G)! This number is that moving and listening to him play the flute
is so moving, so beautiful if you don't feel this emotion then please check your pulse you might be dead??
