A Man Immortal
Half a century ago a child was born in Gary, Indiana, the seventh child of the family, did they recongnise the star he would become?
50 years is so short a life and almost all of it lived in the blaze of the camera flashbulb. 25th June 2009, Michael Jackson died.
He has left us a wealth of music and a legacy to the music industry which is surpassed by none. His influence in music and videos, stage shows and style, will live on.

Not Alone
Strangely, of all Michael Jackson's songs, this was the first one which entered my head when I heard of the news of Michael's death. It was like a 9/11 moment (though in a different way), sitting glued to the TV in total disbelief at the unfolding events.It is the end of an era, there never will be another Michael Jackson but his influence will endure.
It is the end of an era. Michael Jackson was already a success when my children were born, though still a child himself. They are adults now, the oldest nearing forty, and they have never known the music world without this glittering star.
It is a mark in the timeline of musical history.
You Are Not Alone. In so many ways, Michael Jackson will always be with us. His musical legacy is timeless.
Off The Wall
Michael Jackson's solo career began the year my oldest child was born. He was still part of the Jackson Five at that time.When my oldest was still just seven years old, the album 'Off The Wall' 1979) was released and it, along with Bad (1989), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995) are among the best selling albums of all time. Thriller, produced in 1982 is the best selling album.
He had a string of hits through his life and always strove for perfection in his work, won awards for so much of that work but the greatest recognition of his contribution to music and to the lives of so many is yet to come.
History will give him the place he truly deserves.
He will always be remembered
If you have grown up in the last half century you cannot fail to know the name of Michael Jackson, nor can you be unaware of the troubles which dogged his life. These problems have no bearing on the wealth he has left us but I know they have caused prejudice against him.When the annals of history are written and in years to come, Michael Jackson will never be forgotten. He stands as a giant alongside the musical greats, Buddy Holly, Elvis, John Lennon and a handful of others whose genius still inspires the music we listen to today.
Rest In Peace Michael Jackson and know we love you still.

Michael Jackson Marionette
The Coolest Marionette Ever
You know, I'm absolutely amazed that this Michael Jackson marionette didn't sell last time around. It's a one-off, marionette by artist/singer Vinzent Massi (who has signed the marionette on the body) .
Hand made in the 1980's, there is no other like it and it is 3 feet tall ... that's 36 inches, over 90 centimetres.
The eyes and mouth move and the marionette is fully articulated. He is dressed in gold embroidered satin outfit and has the trademark sequined glove.
You just have to look at the various photographs the seller has included in the listing to realise what a work of art this is.
Relisted with a reduced start price, how can you resist it.

- I was about 12 when Thriller was released, I remember watching the video the night it premiered. I had a huge crush on him, and was amazed to find out that my mother had a crush on him as a child too. He has affected many generations and no doubt will affect many generations to come.

- I can't believe how many great songs were his, I'm 40 now and so I can't remember a time when I wasn't listening to his music. I wrote a Top Ten Michael Jackson Songs, but there are sooooo many more that could have been added.
