As I said before my name is Michelle. I live in Lutz, Florida and I'm 30 years old. I am engaged and will be getting married in January of 09.

My Fiance' Brian is retired from the U.S. Navy, he has two beautiful children and we have a 9-month old little boy named Brownie. LOL Okay, so the last one is our dog but we love him like another son.

Some of my favorite things are cooking, music, reading, shopping, amusement parks, going to the beach, traveling, sleeping, movies and going for walks. I like to do a lot of different things, I think it keeps life from getting boring. :)

I recently became an Independent Sales Rep. for Avon. I've tried many "own your own business" type deals and never had much success with them. I've always wanted to work for myself so I keep trying. I've been a fan of Avon's products for a long time and have used them in the past but for some reason I never thought about being a rep for them.

I went to a party for another beauty company one day and the rep was pressing for people to join her company. I thought about it since beauty products were something I myself enjoy and I thought I could be good at it. I researched her company and there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. In my research I came across some information about Avon. I did more research on Avon and I felt like this was a company I could really stand behind. A company I would be proud to represent. I was familiar with a lot of their products already and since the company has been around for more than 100 years I knew it had some staying power.

I have only been with Avon for about 3 months and my business grows little by little with each campaign. I really love this company and am looking forward to making my career with them. There are really no limits here and I know that if I remain focused and dedicated I can make it to the top.

As I said before, Avon has been around for over 100 years, 122 years to be exact. It started out as the California Perfume Company in 1886 and remains a leader in the fragrance category even today. The company changed it's name to Avon in 1939.

A lot of people don't know this little fact but Avon actually owned Tiffany's for a short while. Competitors such as Amway and Mary Kay have tried to buy Avon out over the years but Avon has held strong and is an international brand. Sold not only in the USA but in over 130 other countries.

Avon bills itself as "The Company for Women" and it's not just a title. Avon does a lot of wonderful work for women's causes, supporting breast cancer research and fighting to end domestic violence.

They are always on the forefront of skincare and cosmetics bringing out breakthrough skincare items before their competitors. The company has won numerous awards for it's products and is often featured in major beauty and fashion magazines.

Avon also partners with celebrities, designers and sports stars to endorse their products and support their causes. Reese Witherspoon is Avon's Global Ambassador, Derek Jeter has his own cologne and skincare items for men. Patrick Dempsey will soon have his own cologne and his wife Jillian (celebrity makeup artist) has her own line of cosmetics. Designers Cynthia Rowley and Christian LeCroix have their own frangrance lines with Avon. Singer/Actress Jennifer Hudson is the face of Avon's Imari line. Celine Dion has an Avon exclusive fragrance. Lauren Conrad of The Hills and The O. C. fame is the face of Avon's mark. brand of products.

Avon is not just skincare and beauty though. They also offer fantastic fashions, shoes, jewelry and handbags. Items for children, men and the home.

Avon is one of the cheapest companies to get started with. You can join for just 10.00! You get a start up kit when you join, an Avon tote bag, some inspirational dvd's, brochures to get you started selling as well as some samples.

You also can become an erep and have your own Avon website where people can order from you online. There is a 7.50 per campaign fee for this but if you service one customer through your website the fee is waived. It's a great way to reach people outside of your area for orders you might not have gotten otherwise.

The support with Avon is tremendous. My district has meetings several times a month to teach you about the products and help you with your business. They are optional but are very helpful and informative. You always receive extra brochures and samples too, which are great. Many of the products are on display in the meeting room so you can touch, smell and see the various items. This is really helpful if a customer asks you about an item that you haven't used yourself.

Avon is there to support it's reps every step of the way and with such quality products to offer I am proud to be a part of this extraordinary company!
