Mushrooms are in woods, everywhere. They never last for long, only a few days, but their form and colors delight many a 'shroomer.

What is okay to eat? What is poisonous? What is simply pretty to look at?

Take a look downward on your next hike through the forest.

Walking in September woods, there is more than trees and hills and lakes and streams. The cry of the trumpeter swan or the occasional last-of-the-season mosquito buzzing.

Look down. Off the path to the side. Nearly every step draws you deeper and deeper into the world of mushrooms.
