Who wants to hang out with a bunch of young punks? Forget Facebook and My Space, where on the internet can midlife/senior women and men go to find new friends, relationships, dating and information? And How??
Every 8 seconds another person turns 50. Baby boomers now number over 77.4 million and are finding midlife a time for dating, new relationships, new friends, new careers, new jobs and new social groups. Forget little red sportscars and resting on your laurels, over 16.5 million baby boomers and seniors are using social networks. We are looking for more people to join us online. Why should kids have all the fun?
Here are some baby boomer and beyond friendly social websites to encourage you to leave behind midlife crisis and how to's for your consideration. All you need to do is know what you want. Is it to find, chat with or make new friends? Want to join a new tribe? Interested in some dating? How about a nice serving of information with a side of quotable facts?
An obligatory word of advice - Protect yourself online (and anywhere else for that matter). Do not give out your personal information including your personal e-mail, phone numbers or address to people you do not know. Who knows if a predator is lurking behind that innocuous screen name and cute little avatar. Be cautious but not paranoid. Trust you aged and wise gut. If you do decide to join a site verify that your anonymity is protected, that there are photos of members and that there is a way to block or permanently end contact with someone. If you don't want to deal with pornography, join a reputable website. Remember, there are no guarantees on the internet.

- Fantastic lens with a lot of great tips and info. I still have a decade and a half to go till I turn 50, but I see no harm in getting prepared.lol. I have always had an affinity for people older than myself. Actually, people have been telling me all my life that I am an old soul or that I was born in the wrong decade. People that are younger than me generally don't excite my intellectual needs and usually get on my nerves with their superluous interests. Not to say, I don't know how to relate, but I guess I just prefer the company of people with more life experience and knowledge.
