New Season, New Coach, New Challenges
The update of this lens is LONG over due and I'm sorry. I have to confess that another year of wholesale changes left me . . . unsettled. I am a huge fan of the Wild but the last two seasons have frayed my fandom.Though this season is off to a rocky start (to be expected with all the unsettling changes) but so far you have to like what you see. We have a forecheck (Yay!), our shots on net are finally even, but the D still needs to step it up (can't have everything).
So I keep my fan hat for another season. I'm in it with the rest of you to the bitter end.
Here's to another season of Wild hockey! GAME ON!

Derek Boogaard 1982 - 2011
I can't even express how sad writing this post makes me. Derek Boogaard was found dead by his family in his Minneapolis apartment last night. My heart and prayers go out to his family and especially his parents.Minnesota wild fans will always remember #24 as The Boogieman's number no matter who wears it now.

Give Nordy a Break
I admit I didn't understand the need for this creature to be introduced into our lives and I still don't get the appeal. BUT I am willing to cut Nordy a break after I saw my daughter's eyes light up at the sight of him and heard her giggle. She has a Nordy doll that she LOVES (see photo).
So the next time you're at the game and you see our friend Nordy cut him a break and remember he's not there for you, he's there for the kids.

When I first saw this I thought, "What the . . .?" And then I remembered the Wild room contest that was hosted by the wild this year. You know the guy who really needs this - admit it!
