Glad to read about "Miss Sandy". My dad was Joe Farber and he was the navigator when it was shot down 21 Apr 51. I am glad to find some additional information as my family had little information about my Dad time in Korea. My mom and my sister are now gone so I'm the only one left who remebers my dad.

How wonderful to hear from you, would love to compare pictures and notes. I can also give you info about the remaining members of the 729th Bomb Squadron. They just held a reunion back in June. Please contact me through my bio page and let's talk! :)

How cool! What a terrific piece of history you've put together here. My dad loves aircraft and my husband and sons are military history buffs, so just looking at the pictures here brings back many memories of air shows and other adventures. Wonderful job on the lens!

Wow. I found this lens fascinating. The personal responses you received are great additions to a wonderful tribute lens. Best of luck in gathering more info on your dad and on Miss Sandy.

    Hello There,
I realize you started this quest for history some time ago but I have just stumbled upon it. My name is Jennifer and the "Miss Sandy" is named for my mother, flown by my Grandfather, General LW Sweetser Jr. I am happy to share stories of the General, and relay any information I have.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks, I'd love to hear any stories you have. Miss Sandy is frequently discussed among the remaining members of the 729th on their email chain. I have not even posted all the info they've shared with me! Glad you found a lens that hits so close to home. :)

    Hi Jennifer,

I posted a reply to your email ages ago, but there must have been a glitch, because I don't see it here. I'm so glad you found this lens! I hope you will be able to share any stories at all, maybe a picture of your mother, Miss Sandy's namesake? It would be an honor to share anything you care to share.
