See It, Believe it: Imagine Money Everywhere!

Sometimes goofy sounding ideas end up being helpful tools for personal change. Imagine Money Everywhere is one of those. I first heard this idea expressed by Catherine Ponder in one of her books about prosperity, and thought it was insane. OK, my opinion was much lower, but this is a G rated lens and I can't say the words I thought way back then.

Oh, have I changed my tune! Here's why.

Seeing IS Believing

and there's a lot of research to back it up.

Have you ever bitten into a lemon?

Imagine right now that you've got a lemon slice in your hand, and you are about to bite into it. As you anticipate the sharp sour taste of the lemon, is your mouth beginning to water? Can you avoid puckering as you think about what that lemon is going to taste like?

If you're like most of us, you noticed an increase in salivation and probably made a puckering motion with your mouth. That was your body reacting to your mind.

Now if your mind can do that to your body based on a memory, what do you think your mind could do if you continually reminded it of something? I'll give you a clue: Madison Avenue uses it to create desires all the time. There's a reason so much money changes hands in order to expose you to commercial messages.

Now given that we know this to be true, why not expose your own mind to the messages that YOU would like to reinforce?

Imagine Money Everywhere is a way of doing exactly that. By continually exposing yourself to images of the things you want to be comfortable with (like money) you are setting the wheels in motion to create that thing you are imagining. Pretty simple.

I Doubt You Can Watch THIS without salvating or puckering.

(If you CAN, it means your Empathy Factor is a little on the Low Side.)

Pay attention to what happens in your body from watching this baby taste the lemon. Maybe watch it more than once so you can really examine how the video affects your sympathetic nervous system. Most, if not all, people will discover that they have increased salivation, they may even flinch along with the baby and find themselves making the same sort of "gosh that's sour!" face.

This is an excellent example of WHY surrounding ourselves with symbols of what we are desirous of obtaining seems to work "like magic."

What did Walt Disney and Leonardo DaVinci have in common?

Well, according to Matt Furey (one of my favorite marketing writers) because they knew the human mind thinks in pictures, they surrounded themselves with images and drawings of their goals and projects.

They both had impressive levels of success, so I am going to jump to the conclusion that what they did may have helped them create that success. Isn't that a lot like what we are talking about in this lens, Imagine Money Everywhere?

Matt goes into further detail on this idea, though, because he says that surrounding yourself with things that spell success to your mind is important; in fact, you should have something in every room that activates your subconcious to produce greater health, happiness, and wealth.

I think it's probably good advice.

Did this song, and the impression it made on the Beatles, help them imagine Success?

Think about how many times they played it - impressing the ideas into their minds.

Makes ya wonder, yes?
