Mobility Scooters: Is a Mobilty Scooter Right For You?
Many disabled people prefer mobility scooters to wheelchairs, for one reason. Scooters look more like small motorcyles than wheelchairs and thus are less "stigmatizing". But a power wheelchair has a major advantage to a mobility scooter in that it is much more maneuverable and so is much easier to use indoors or in tight places.

Mobility Scooters maybe more dangerous than you think. There are lots of accidents involviing mobility scooters. For example, in county of the UK. there were 6 serious and 14 slight injury collisions involving mobility scooters in one year (best statistics I could find).
There is a trend in some locations to require licensing.
