"A" Modules

How to use the "A" Modules

When I originally started this lens, I was going to list all modules and how they can be used. But, after taking a closer look at how many are out there, (over 150) I realized that it would be an impossible task to try and display all modules in a single lens. Besides the fact that it would be huge and may not even fit in one lens, It would take forever to load. Readers don't want to search through that many items to find what they want to learn about. Then came the task of trying to figure out how to group them. When you visit the Modules feature in Squidoo, they are grouped by several different ways. Category, alphabetical, and so on. But, unless you know what it is you're looking for, it's difficult to find.

The purpose of these lenses is to show you what they will look like on your lens and how to set them up. So, I've decided to create one lens for each of the modules by "First Letter", or in some cases, several letters, depending on the number of modules that would be included. This lens will be all about modules starting with the letter "A". So, browse around this lens and maybe you'll just find one you didn't know was there or didn't know what it would be used for.

What is the About Me Module about?

The About Me Module is all about you

People like to get to know the lensmasters. Place this module on all of your lenses and let them get to know you.

First, give your About Me module a title. Never leave the default title on any of your modules.

Second, add a subtitle. This is optional, but it is one of the places google will look at.

Third, give your module a description. Add a little something extra that is not in your bio

Fourth, choose which items "About You" you want to display. There are 4 boxes you can choose to show. I have checked all four on this one so you can see what they will look like. The last option allows you to Edit your Squidoo profile settings.

The four boxes are:

  • Show default profile picture. Checking this box will display the profile picture you have uploaded on your profile page.

  • Show my Squidoo "automatic" bio. Checking this box will display the default bio that tells your visitors when you became a lensmaster, how many lenses you have rated, how many you have favored, how many lenses you have created and your top ranked lens.

  • Show my custom default bio. Checking this box will display the bio you entered on your profile page

    .
  • Show my 5 featured lenses. Checking this box will display the featured lenses listed in your profile.

Below displays how the About Me Module may look on your lens. This one has all items checked.
