Mold Removal Products

Not all mold removal products are created alike. As a matter of fact while one product may work for some types of mold, it may not work for others. And when it comes to a particular cleaner such as one for molds and mildews, chances are they'll only work temporarily. That's because fungus spores can remain dormant for a long time and then come back when you least expect it.

Of course when it comes to toxic funguses, you're on a whole other level. If you have toxic molds in your home you can't just spray any product on it and hope for the best. Toxic molds are much more dangerous and can reek havoc on your health and your home. These types of molds require a good black mold removal product that will remove the problem safely and permanently.

Mold Removers You Can Make Yourself

How to Make Your Own Natural Mold Removers

Mold removers are practically a common household cleaner for many homeowners now that summer is almost here. And while it's not uncommon to find non-toxic mold and mildew growing in our bathrooms and laundry rooms, we tend to use toxic cleaners to get rid of the problem, which can actually cause more damage to our lungs than the fungus itself.

Most homeowners also consider bleach as a way to rub out the problem, but not only does bleaching cause serious health risks, it also doesn't kill many molds permanently. Instead, try a safer alternative to mold removal such as:

Grapefruit oil, which can be found in most health food stores. It's virtually odorless so if you're not fond of the smell of grapefruit, you can still use it. Simply mix about 20 drops of the oil with two cups of water and use on affected surface areas, then let dry.

Tea tree oil can also be found in health food stores, although it can be a little more pricier and has a stronger odor than many oils. Still, a little goes a long way. Just add two teaspoons of the oil to two cups of water and apply to the surface area, then let dry.

Hydrogen Peroxide is inexpensive and can be applied directly to the surface area without the need for diluting. Keep in mind however that hydrogen peroxide does act as a bleach, so you don't want to use it on any surfaces that are prone to fading.

White vinegar is another inexpensive solution for natural mold removers that can be applied directly from the bottle without diluting it. Many people don't like the smell of vinegar, so if you choose to try it as a cleaner, you may want to open as many windows as possible in the area to reduce the strong odor.

Mold Removal Products - Organic or Chemicals

And if that particular product is chocked full of nasty harmful chemicals, it can do just as much damage as a toxic fungus, if not more. The best cleaners to look for no matter what type of moldy issue you may have is those that are 100% natural and free from harmful chemicals. And while it may seem like the cost of organic cleaners is much more than a simple chemical one, it's a whole lot cheaper than a visit to the hospital from chemical poisoning.

It's always better to choose something from Mother Nature rather than something man-made which can make your home and your health worse off than when you started. Of course in the end the choice is always yours. I know I would much rather be breathing clean fresh smelling air than one that smells chemically and burns my lungs. I'd much rather live a healthier greener life and choose mold removal products that are just as green. Wouldn't you?
