i would never go back to other forms of protection - i love my moon cup. Nice lens, i will share with my friends that i haven't yet convinced to switch to the mooncup!

I use a DivaCup. I would never go back to anything else. It's AMAZING, and takes all the stress and annoyance out of your period!

I vaguely recall hearing something about this product or one very similar many moons ago. Thank goodness for me I am now a goddess ;), so don't have to fuss with any menstrual products. I'm not sure it would have worked for me - I feel kinda sorta like kirsty, it requires too much fussing. Appreciate your personal review just the same.

Great lens, but you knew that :) Just wanted to remind you that this is featured on the Women and Girls Shopping Headquarters: http://www.squidoo.com/groups/women-girls

It's now transformed into a lensography and I would love it if you could feature it here, or lensroll it or something.

I think the thought of it is revolting, i would rather stick to santiary towels. I couldnt be dealing with always fiddling with my vagina to get it out. As pads being messy i can see this method being a bit messy too. With tampons you can flush them away and with santiary towels you just wrap them up and put them in the bin and dispose of them with the household waste. I couldnt be bothered washing it out. There must be many infections off this method. I'd rather bathe everyday and change the santiary towel.

Firstly, you should NOT be flushing tampons anywhere. Secondly, it is not messy, fiddly or related to infections. Mooncups are safer, easier to use and better for the environment than tampons or pads. And it's really not that much of a 'bother' to wash it out - it takes seconds.

I had never even heard of this. Makes much more sense than spending tons of money on the other items. I'll have to check more into this. Thanks for the info! Great job!

In the U.S. I had heard about menstrual cups, but never seen one up close and personal nor have I ever used one -- an interesting concept indeed!

I was just wondering, how old do you have to be to use the mooncup? Is it suitable for anyone under 15?

Hi :) I'm sorry to hear about your partner's problems with the Moon cup. It shouldn't be too painful when removing but the seal must be released before she attempts to do so. Just tell her to gently press the base of the Moon cup (she should feel or hear the seal release) and then use the spout at the base to gently remove it. Please let me know if you need any more help :)

can u give any advice re the mooncup as my partner has tried it for the first time and had trouble removing it saying it was worse than giving birth..........just looking for some help/advice

Great lens! More women should be aware of the alternatives. I've not tried the mooncup but I've been using my own home-made cloth pads for a couple of years now- 100 times better than any pads you can buy- it really annoys me that I used those disgusting paper and plastic things for years!

Interesting information - very needed. When i think of all the money I have paid out over the years to manufacturers of napkins .. grrrrrr

    very well done.

I've been using mine for several months now and love it. Never worry about sterilising it though. I'm happy to just rinse it with very hot water.
