Historical Morris County, New Jersey nestles amid rolling hills, broad valleys and glittering lakes approximately 25 miles west of New York City and is one of the fastest growing counties in the New York metropolitan area. In 2000 the US Census showed the population of Morris County to be 470,212, and as of 2006 the Census Bureau was estimating that the population had grown to 493,160. Morris County is considered to be part of the New York City Metro Area. According to estimates Morris County is the Sixth-Wealthiest County in all of the United States.

Morris County is the home of three universities (including Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, College of St. Elizabeth), a two-year County College, and a County Vocational Technical School. One of every four high school graduates in Morris County attend the County College of Morris which reports a capacity attendance both for full-time and part-time courses. The high registration reflects the fine academic standings of the college, the wide appeal of its varied curriculum, and the relative cost-value of its programs in comparison to other institutions.
Morris County Real Estate & Home Prices:
Many of the most desirable places to live in Morris County are in towns along the New Jersey Transit train line, or within a short drive from the train line. These towns include Chatham, Madison, Florham Park, Convent Station / Morris Township, & Morristown.
Homes in these towns price from around $300,000 for condos and smaller homes, to $500,000 - $900,000 for mid level and medium to larger sized homes, all the way up to $12,000,000 for executive style mansions.
The general rule is that home prices tend to be a little lower as you go west in Morris County. So if you could find very similar homes in Chatham and Morristown, the same home in Morristown will be somewhat less expensive.
