I like to think of myself as a 'mom fashionista'... the standard 'mom jeans' do not suit me! I always assumed that once I had a child, that I would be able to easily find everything I was looking for: trendy, modern designs, with a contemporary, elite and upscale feeling. Boy, was I shocked.
When I was pregnant with my son, I was so excited to finally shop for baby items! I had a difficult pregnancy, so I spent quite a bit of time on bedrest. Let's just say that soap operas and talk shows just weren't 'my thing'...so, instead the internet turned into my entertainment forum. I had a field day searching online for baby items. I spent hours searching for the 'perfect' baby supplies for my little one, because after all, he was worth it! I knew exactly what I was looking for: upscale, trendy, funky, chic, stylish and cool baby clothes, baby furniture, baby bedding, strollers and nursery decor. However, what I found was far from perfect....cheesy outfits I would never put him in, diaper bags that I would never carry, nursery decor that was more sappy than sweet. Why do so many vendors think that just because you turn into a mom, that your sense of style disappears? I didn't want every outfit to be blue; I didn't want every diaper bag to have a cartoon plastered across it; nor did I think that his nursery could only be decorated in cartoon characters, sports themes or zoo animals (of course, all somehow relating to the color blue). It was at that moment that I was on a mission...a mission to "find the fashion"!
I quickly realized that I wasn't the only mom who felt this way. In talking to many of my friends (who of course are fashionistas themselves) the same common themed kept occurring: where do you find cool clothing, hip and innovative styles, fashion-forward trends and even Green baby items? Well, I assure you, those items do exist out there; you just have to know where to look to find them.
So, after ALOT of searching, www.myaffluentbaby surfaced. Finally, one-stop-shopping for everything trendy, upscale, stylish, contemporary & funky for my baby! This is a compilation of trendy, luxurious and elite baby boutiques all in one place. Even eco friendly baby clothes are offerred here.
