MOST Haunted

Yvette Fielding (born 23 September 1968, Stockport, England) is a popular British television presenter. She is currently the presenter of the shows Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live. She is also executive producer of the show.

Yvette Fielding presented the children's television show, Blue Peter from 1987 to 1992, and was the youngest ever person to do so, being only 18 years old when she started. Previously, she had acted in the children's television comedy series Seaview.

Since leaving Blue Peter, Yvette has worked on television shows such as Whats up Doc?, Heaven and Earth, The General and City Hospital, and also had acting roles in Last of the Summer Wine (making an appearance in the series while making a Blue Peter report on the show) and Juliet Bravo.

Yvette owns and runs the production company "Antix", with her husband Karl Beattie and they have two children, William and Mary.

Derek Acorah's Bestsellers

Derek Acorah was Most Haunted's resident medium until one evening he was siad to have 'pretended' to become possessed by a non existant spirit.

Derek Acorah's claims of mediumship were challenged when he claimed to be in contact with the spirits of fictional characters. In one case he became possessed by a fictitious character, 'Kreed Kafer', (an anagram of 'Derek faker'). He also was "in touch" with the spirits of 'Rik Eedles' (an anagram of 'Derek lies'), and 'Ged Harken' ('hang Derek').

Dr Ciarán O'Keeffe, Most Haunted's resident parapsychologist, claims that these names were given to Acorah just before the cameras rolled, or mentioned in his earshot by other crew members before the shoot. The names were subsequently incorporated into Acorah's 'possession', shown in the programme, throwing doubt on the reliability of his claims.

O'Keeffe claims that the Mirror newspaper took much of what he said out of context and suggests that, until solid proof is found, people cannot be certain about the claims of mediums. He does say, however, that of all the mediums he has studied, "the most probable explanation is a normal one, whether that be cold reading, Barnum effect, or even fraud."

The show's presenter, Yvette Fielding, is quoted as saying that Acorah was dropped from the show because the incidents above demonstrated that "he was a fake". She is also quoted as saying that his "violent behaviour" when he was "supposedly possessed" was becoming too dangerous.

However, Derek was quickly snapped up by Living TV to present 'Ghost Towns' another extremely popualr UK TV series. Accompanied by a 'sceptic' and a popular UK celebrity Derek visits UK towns and examines alleged haunted shops, factories and homes. He still becomes possessed, but with less violence than he showed on Most Haunted.

Derek Acorah Bestsel

Richard Felix has been investigating the paranormal for over 15 years and has now become one of Britain's best known and most successful ghost hunters. He now regularly stars on Living TV's "Most Haunted".

Richard was born in Derby and educated at Stanley College. He spent nine years in the Territorial Army, commissioned into the third battalion of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters, but history has always been his passion. In 1988, after 30 years of selling pop records for the family record business, Richard had what he describes as a midlife crisis and decided that he would spend the rest of his life selling Derby. After six months, he had become chairman of Derby and Derbyshire tourism association.

In September 1992, he opened the highly successful Derby Heritage Centre. His biggest success has to be the famous Derby Ghost Walk, which has featured on television, radio and in newspapers and magazines across the country and abroad. He has recently taken possession of the old Derby Gaol and is embarking on a second Ghost Walk of Derby. In addition, he spends much of the time travelling the UK on his National Ghost Tour.

Richard lives in a 17th Century farmhouse in Thurvaston with his wife and sons.

Richard has become one of the most popular figures on Most Haunted, and is always excited when David Wells gets a name or place detail right.

Dr. Ciaran O'Keefe is Most Haunted's resident Parapsychologist. Ciaran provides a 'skeptics' view on the mysterious happenings on the show.

Ciarán can be seen appearing on other paranormal TV shows such as Jane Goldman Investigates where he provides a sceptical voice and regularly battles with all manner of mediumistic communication.

Ciaran takes all of the usual readings prior to the show commencing, and usually has an excellent 'normal' explanantion for anything weird that happens on the show.He currently holds a Research Associate position at Université de Paris 8 -Laboratoire de Psychologie Sociale, and has written a book with Yvette Fielding.

In Search of the Supernatural

David Wells is a self-described medium and astrologer. He was born in Kelloholm in Scotland,UK and claims to have discovered his abilities after suffering from pneumonia.

Learning astrology and studying the Kabbala to "ground" his abilities, He is now the main medium on Living TV show Most Haunted.

David also serves as the official astrologer for NOW magazine (UK) and the Scottish Daily Record. Initially, David was a guest medium on Most Haunted
in 2004, on the Greengate Brewery episode, along with then resident medium Derek Acorah.

In contrast to his predecessor (who appeared to be for the most part clairaudient) David is predominately clairvoyant and occasionally employs the use of tarot cards and scrying mirrors as aids to communicating with the spirit world.

Unlike Derek Acorah, David Wells has maintained a relatively low profile; he also only rarely channels spirits and does not seem to have the violent mood swings that Derek Acorah suffered when 'possessed'.
