"I run a heating oil business, which also sells diesel fuel and gasoline, in Mathews County, VA. This is a small retirement community on Chesapeake Bay. Roads do not pass through Mathews, they end in Mathews. There are only two things you can do when you come to Mathews - stay or turn around and go back! I tell you this so that you realize I am in the country - not some big metropolitan area. I have to be sure that everything we sell is a quality product because of this close community we serve.

My company supplies the diesel fuel for the fleet of approximately 30 school buses in Mathews. I made an appointment with the Transportation Supervisor, who was mainly concerned about the lubrication in the new Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel. I went armed with the Motor Latte DVD, all pertinent information about the products, and a one-liter bottle of Diesel Booster. After the presentation, I took time with him to review his records concerning the fuel mileage of the buses.

The supervisor picked a bus with a veteran driver, whose route and approximate passenger load had not changed over the past year. This bus averaged 8.5 MPG during the 2005-06 school year. The mileage on the same bus dropped to 6.1 MPG, a 28 percent decrease while using ULSD! I gave the supervisor the one-liter bottle of Diesel Booster with the agreement that he would begin using it in the same bus and we would check results later.
