Anime Music

Part of the Charm
One of the main reasons I watch anime is the music. It often comes under the form of songs, sometimes instrumental, and is cool most of the time. Even if a series sucks, I would endure it if the theme song is nice (especially when that is the ending song). So this lens is dedicated to them - the anime music.
Some Quick Little Details
-
The song/piece appears at the opening/ending of an anime show is never the whole thing. It has been edited to fit the 1-minute credits. The full piece is released later in a separate CD. Therefore, finding the full version is always a hard quest.
Note: this is not always applied to opening/ending of anime movies. - Besides the theme songs/scores, there are also "character image songs" i.e. songs written after the main characters and sung by the respective seiyuus. Not every series has character image songs and it is not easy getting hand on those songs either (well, it is much easier in this age of Internet at least).
Opening/Ending Videos
The Standard Stuffs
I enjoy the little opening/ending clips of most series, sometimes more than the main part itself. Here are my favourite.

Character Image Songs
As said above, these songs come separately from the main series (they are usually bonus in the DVD version). They are a chance for the seiyuus to show off their singing skills.

In-show Performances
Nodame Cantabile
Ah Nodame, who can forget the craziness? Besides the wacky comedy, this series is also known for popularizing classical music among the younger audiences (they put the composer, number and nickname of the piece in the show, which is nifty). Here are some interesting pieces featured in the anime (they are taken directly from the show, so there are voices over in some part).

La Corda d'Oro
Like Nodame Cantabile, La Corda d'Oro (The golden string) is centred around classical music. However, it does so with reverse harem and bishounen. Lots of them. Quite an eye candy fest. Relax your grip on reality and let those cuties entertain you :)

Piano no Mori (Piano's Forest)
Another anime with classical music motif, this time is about children and how music blends into their lives. A nice series with interesting performances.

Instrumental Interpretations of the Songs
When Fans Show Their Artistic Flair
I am a sucker at playing instrument (been fiddling with guitar for 3 years without improvement) so I pretty much admire those who can. And there are anime fans who are not content with listening to the songs but play the pieces according to their interpretation. So applause for these fan-artists.

- Thank you for your comment. I agree with you about the Tsubasa soundtrack. I also like music by Kajiura in general, so I have a lens about her.
