There Must Be An Angel
Do you love angels? There must be an angel! This is a tribute to angels. This lens was to be about Squid Angels and the blessings they rain down on us, but I want to make it a little more than that.
You see, I am named after an angel (specifically, one of the arch variety) and I have had a couple of run ins with angels in real life to which I owe my life. So - I like angels of all varieties, especially Squid Angels, and I hope you do too. This lens is to give thanks for the angels around us all!

Here are some of my very favourite Squid Angels on Squidoo. This is not just because they have sprinkled a little angel dust in my direction, but also because they go beyond the call of duty to encourage Fresh Squid at every opportunity. They take their Angel duties extremely seriously. How seriously? Did I ever tell you I have never asked for a blessing? These angels found me! That shows dedication!
I am not going to pick a favourite because that would be unfair. They are all wonderful people and Fresh Squid should check them out through this module and get to know them. They have a great deal to teach us all!

I Believe In Angels
I have cause to think they saved my life....
A Second Chance.
Mind racing through the busy streets of care,
A country lane, slow moving truck
And I am late.
The only thought that matters, work,
So I move out to overtake and trust to luck.
The driver sees my signal, but different idea,
He floors the pedal,
Holds me off to face a head-on smash -
And face my fear.
I hit the brake!
The road is greasy - weeks of sunlight,
Tractor mud, a sprinkling of soft rain -
And I am bound for Hell or Heaven's Gate
Beneath twin wheels.
Yet in that instant
Faith lends me the strength to act -
I steer into the skid, the Jaws of Fate.
That moment is the longest in my life.
Compassion melts my heart,
For those I love and words I did not say.
No question now of work or being late -
I close my eyes and pray.
And, in that moment, do I feel the Hand of God
Who turns me, gives a second chance?
I know for years, in dreams,
I feel that slide and turn, that sense of dread
That I had left so much undone.
That in my busy life and foolish schemes,
Hectic with work and bills to pay,
I failed to see the work of God
Whose hand was there to guide -
To keep serene within the Jaws of Death -
And show how much of Love was left unsaid.

Guardian Angels
As you will see, I believe in guardian angels - although I have never seen mine, I know they are there! I put this module in for people to find pictures that might help them visualise their angels.
Not the only time....
On a serious note....
In my life I have felt moments when time literally stood still. These moments of great danger were the moments of greatest calm and clarity too. There is an awareness I cannot explain that somehow I am watched over and protected.
My poem about the accident illustrates only one such instant. I don't want to leave this life as I feel I have wasted so much time and have so much I want to do but I also know that when my time does come I will be safe - and if that time is not yet God will offer protection....

Angels Are Invisible
Sometimes Blessings Come Anonymously
Just as I never saw my Guardian Angel, but simply felt the car turned (and on another occasion, time almost stopped) so Squidoo Angels sometimes choose to work invisibly. If you ever wondered why your lensrank soared and you can't think why - no more sales, no more traffic, no update - the chances are an invisible angel has been at work. Too modest to announce their presence, nevertheless these Angels make Squidoo an unpredictable and exciting place. I know they have been busy recently - perhaps you too have felt their presence?
