Loyal readers to my blog may recall that I posted a good deal of information about the MyInternetBusiness Phase 2 upgrade the night before it launched.

Well, after we thought about it more, we decided we really just wanted to make this super easy, so %u2026 we thought we'd just give to you! Yep, you read right. Here's how it will go. If you are a Platinum product owner, it's going to be included in your package. Your cost? Nada, Zip, Zilch. You simply pay the shipping and handling for the physical part of the package and it's yours. How much is that, you ask? How does $35 sound? Told you it would be easy.


OK, You're not a Platinum product owner? No worries it gets much better for you as well. We think that's a nice add. We hope you feel the same.


This is waaay more than just the US and Mexico travel vouchers that used to come with the Gold and Platinum packages-which are still available of course, and now are available to Bronze and Silver members too! But for most MyInternetBusiness owners (most of whom are Platinum), your business now allows you to use and sell this incredible new product line.

Make a Squidoo lens about your business opportunity...talk about what it offers, the pros the cons, go into your products, your compensation plan. Link to your website, and to your videos. In fact, if you or someone on your team has a great video on Youtube, you can just pop in a Youtube module and have the video play right there on your Squidoo! Search engines absolutely looove Squidoo, and your lens can quickly rise to the front page of Google!

In every single one of these marketing instruments, you should have great-quality content about MyInternetBusiness, what it is and what it offers, AND...


...EMBEDDED links to a few of your other sites! I.e. a blog entry should link to your capture page, your Squidoo site, and your press release, perhaps. Your Squidoo should link to your capture page and your videos. Your press release should link to your capture page and Squidoo.

What you are doing here is spinning a web of upward one-way-linking websites, all of which strengthen each other and boost your rankings. Working in the SEO training field for a number of years now, I hear of many webmasters working diligently to get their website ranked high in the search engines. After months of hard work and effort they receive the benefit of getting their page recognized on major search engines. Then after a lot of hard work their page is suddenly not appearing anywhere on the search engines. Where did it go? Unfortunately webmasters unknowingly spam their own site and search engines ban them. That is why we find it so important in My Internet Business SEO Trainings that we cover how not to get your Site Spammed.

Their are many practices that will allow your site to get banned off the search engines. The first one in My Internet Business training is the abuse of Hidden text. Years ago it was a practice that many website builders used in order to get better optimization with a keyword. For an example lets use online marketing strategies as a suggested keyword. They might have the title as

Then underneath it put. Online marketing strategies, and repeat the keyword they are optimizing their website for. But what would that mean to their client base? So instead of making it visible text they put it as the same background as the site. So people coming to the site can not view the text, however if you were to highlight over that section you would clearly see that their is text appearing in that section. Search engines such as Google will have their website banned for doing such task.

The other sneaky optimization tactic is doing the ALT tabs for the graphics on the page. Alt tabs will allow written text to appear. This can be a large on page optimization tactic. However, some abuse this HTML coding. Instead of providing relevant material, they repeat the keywords. Understanding how not only to structure ALT image tags but how to strategically place text in to get the most advanced on page optimization is critical. When used incorrectly Google can see it as a Spam effect and have your site off the Internet.

The first lesson with MyInternetBusiness training classes is the on page optimization tactics. It is a shame to see web designers putting in hard work and then losing all that hard work because they misrepresented their site. We have been working on a program that tracks our My Internet Business search engine optimization methods. Our web development insures that none of the above practices are used. The best advice for Internet Business builders is to not use these techniques, it may work temporarily but eventually your site will get banned. The best way to insure that your optimization is being handled correctly is to set your page up for your visitors not for your rankings.

So, I was recently interviewed by Multiple Stream Media about my successes in online business. Here are the questions and answers about me:

1. What ignited the spark in you to start an online business venture?

How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer: Like most who have done their time in the corporate world, I grew weary of the rat race, the office politics, the commute, and the lack of job stability. As a corporate finance manager with an education in business, I knew that I could earn more money using my skills to build my own business than I could using them to build someone else's.

My first major entrepreneurial venture was doing financial consulting and cost-reduction services for businesses. This did generate considerable profits, with minimal costs, but I was still trading time for money. I wanted a business that I could do the work with once and continually reap the benefits down the line.

I got into a few different network marketing businesses, and finally found the Passport to Wealth system, created by the internet marketing guru Darren Gaudry. This is where I actually learned how to successfully market online, and THAT is the difference between success or failure in online business. Now, with the April 1 2008 launch of MyInternetBusiness.Com, I am using the marketing and profit-generating techniques I mastered with Passport to Wealth, and as one of the co-leaders on the MyInternetBusiness Mentors 4 U team, I am teaching my team how to market and generate their own prospects too.

2. How do you find people to bring into your organization that

truly care about the organization the way you do?

Answer:

The majority of people who join my organization do so as a result of the Search Engine Optimization that I practice and teach. When someone has a need, or 'pain,' they search on the internet for an answer to that pain. The pain may be that they need more money, or want to be able to work from home and spend time with their family, or they are sick of being walked all over by their boss and want to work for themselves.

The content of my website is designed to address these needs, and show them how becoming a member of my organization can fulfill them. I do not prospect or do sales pitches; those who are serious about earning money online come to me. My job is just to make sure that my solution to their pain is easily available on the internet, and to make sure that I clearly spell out how and why my business can help them improve their lives.

3. How important have good employees been to your success?

Answer: I am going to use the term 'team member', rather than employee, since everyone in my organization is working for themselves to make THEIR lives better, not mine. Good team members have been essential to my success, by building a strong team environment where everyone helps each other along. Team members come up with new marketing ideas, help and encourage those who are struggling, and learn the lessons that myself and the other leaders teach them to build the business.

4. What three pieces of advice would you give to others who

want to become entrepreneurs?

Answer:

1) Look Before You Leap-- Do your Due Diligence before you start up with any business opportunity. The internet is choked with illegitimate or barely-legitimate schemes cloaked as 'opportunities' that promise that you'll earn hundreds of thousands of dollars per year sitting around in your pajamas not doing any work. Carefully research each business opportunity you are considering, get some reviews, interview several different sponsors, and find out what THEY offer you if you join. Ideally you will want to join a TEAM that offers training, marketing services, prospecting calls, etc.

2) Make a Commitment to Yourself-- Once you find the RIGHT opportunity for you, make a commitment to yourself that you are going to be successful with it. 1) Be Teachable/Adaptable to Change-The ability to LEARN is essential for the entrepreneur, because the world that we do business in is constantly changing. Learn how to learn, and you will be able to take in and implement cutting-edge profit generation techniques as they are developed.

2) Be Creative- You need to distinguish yourself from the tens of thousands of others marketing the same or similar opportunity or products. Why should the customer buy from you? Creativity is essential for establishing your Unique Selling Proposition (USP), and will be the difference between your customer clicking on to the next website versus stopping to watch your presentation. Under Creativity falls the ability to write good ad copy, which is a skill that I urge you to invest the time to develop. Well-written advertisements will suck prospects to your website with the force of a Hoover, while mediocre ads are just ignored.

3) Be Disciplined-Developing personal organization and discipline are also critical success factors for your business. If you have activities in your daily methods of operation, make sure that you set aside the time to do them. Being consistent in your marketing efforts will bring in consistently-positive results, while just advertising or calling a prospect now and then will bring only sporadic, if any, results.

7. What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned

from them?

Answer: My first venture into network marketing was a lesson in how NOT to do online business. Note: This happened because I didn't do my RESEARCH. I was basically sucked into buying a cheap information package that would supposedly teach me how to make money online, but in reality only contained a bunch of ra-ra and hype. I was then coaxed into buying a $400 business opportunity that would supposedly provide training. Then, when I was in, I was told the only way to make 'real money' with this business was to invest $3000 in products to buy my way to a higher profit level.

And THEN, I was told that the only way to sell all those products was to spend $500 on 'wheel slots', which was essentially $500 for 5 leads that may as well have been taken right out of the phone book!

Whenever I had questions or concerns or was struggling, the answer? 'Buy more wheel slots'. I'm sure many readers know this story all too well%u2026like myself, many who have gotten burned by MLM schemes like this then go on to earn significant money online%u2026but it was an expensive education!

21. How do you build a successful customer base?

Answer: Have you ever heard the expression, 'There are pennies in the sale and a fortune in the follow-up?' This is important to keep in mind when building your customer base. You should NOT be looking to make a quick buck; give the customer what is best for THEM, and don't try to upsell. This will result in less initial profit, but a satisfied customer who if properly treated, will become a repeat customer again and again. Putting the customer first is the best, easiest, and most proven method of building a successful customer base.

22. Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming
a successful entrepreneur?

Answer: I believe there are MANY patterns or formulas that result in successful entrepreneurship, and the exact details vary from person to person. I do believe there are some common factors that are present in virtually all entrepreneurial success stories, and these include:
· A burning desire to succeed, oftentimes coupled with a NEED or hardship that makes success a requirement and not an option
· Dedication and persistence in building a customer base and organization
· The ability to teach and inspire others to see a better future for themselves, and to pursue that future
· A positive, 'can-do' attitude that is immune to the effects of nay-sayers, setbacks, and other obstacles to success.

23. If you could talk to one person from history, who would it be and why?

Answer: Julius Caesar. I would love to learn the secrets of such a man who was able to influence, inspire, lead and motivate the world itself into doing whatever he wanted. A master orator and strategist, there are very few in history who have been able to present a sales pitch like Caesar%u2026from getting his army to break tradition and cross the Rubicon river with him, to having himself declared a demigod, to having the calendar itself rewritten to include his name ('July'), his accomplishments have always inspired me, thousands of years later.

Answer: My grandfather has always been my greatest inspiration. A soldier, a businessman, and a father, he always accomplished whatever he put his mind to and didn't let anything stop him. He taught me early in life to never let the world push me around or take advantage of me, and to think critically to overcome problems. 'Every problem presents a hidden opportunity', he would tell me. I've always done my best to make him proud.

Answer: 'Think and Grow Rich', by Napoleon Hill, is easily the most inspiration book I have ever read. It blows out of the water conventional ideas about careers, wealth-building, and one's 'place' in the world, and espouses that ANYONE can do or become whatever they have a burning desire to. This is a centuries-old book that holds just as much power and value today as it once did, and along the same lines as 'The Secret', it teaches you that your THOUGHTS determine your REALITY.

Answer: I'll be honest, I love the money, who wouldn't? But for me, my FAVORITE aspect is being able to spend more time with my wife and son. There is just so much more that I am able to get out of life, working just 30-40 hours per week, versus working 60+ hours per week like I used to in the corporate world.

I attribute my personal success to setting ambitious goals for my life, having a strong desire to reach them, investing in myself to develop the skills necessary for financial success, and the discipline and persistence to make that success happen.

Below are what I consider to be the five key elements for researching, beginning and running a successful business.
1. Do Your Research-Investigate multiple business opportunities, and interview multiple sponsors. This is going to be a HUGE investment in time, emotion, and money, when all is said and done, so make sure that you do it right the first time! Due diligence pays large dividends in any business, especially one that you are funding with your own hard-earned money.
2. Check To See if There Is A Team Effort- It is crucially
important to make sure there is a team effort. If there are not team trainings, or other mentors to talk to, then I would be worried about your ability to contact with your mentor after you join. Make sure to ask them if they have team training calls or if there are other leaders
that can help you build your online business.

3. Don't Be Pressured - Making a business decision is big. You should not be pressured or feel like you have to make a decision
today. If someone pressures you to join, then I would back away.

MyInternetBusiness: What Holds People Back?
The obvious answer is that aspiring entrepreneurs are held back by lack of money. After all, with MyInternetBusiness , it does cost either $495, $995, $1995, or $2995 to buy-in, depending on what level of profits you want to earn. But is the investment requirement REALLY such a barrier?

The greatest obstacle and the reason most people fail in home business is their inability to effectively market. You can have the hottest opportunity in the industry but if you can't get quality traffic to your website, you'll never make a single sale or sign up one distributor. This forces many into the situation of having to buy leads and cold-call them. With the possible exception of trying to push your product on your friends and family, I don't think the industry gets any worse than that!

On the other hand, you can have a second-rate or even craptastic product, but if you can market it well and get tons of traffic to your site, the law of averages will kick in and you will make sales.

A related obstacle is the lack of mentoring or support from your upline%u2026the usual answer to your cry for help is, 'Buy more leads'. Which is BS. And accordingly, the few distributors that you do sign up under this typical model may not stay very long.

A very common misconception is that you have to pay for advertising. I personally think that paid advertising sucks. Find a mentor who will teach you to do your own marketing and Search Engine Optimization, and learn to brand yourself, not your upline or your business.

My personal obstacle is finding enough hours in the day. Between training my team, returning calls from prospects, marketing my sites, writing articles, blogging, and researching/investigating new marketing methods, I always find that I don't have enough time to keep up with everything.

My solution to this has been to start teaching my wife the business too, so that we can divide up the effort. Although she's brand-new to this, there's no reason why she can't do the internet marketing, that part is easy once you know how. That way I can focus on working with our team and helping new prospects get started.

Generating strong traffic sources is critical to the success of your internet business. No matter how strong your sales page is, how effective your close, or how wonderful your product is, if you don't have traffic, no one knows it. And if no one sees your product, no one will purchase it.

The quality of your traffic is also paramount. Low quality traffic such as guaranteed traffic, exit traffic, pop-up traffic, or pop-under traffic generally produce very low returns. Managed correctly, these sources of traffic can create a positive return on investment, but in most cases you will need more qualified traffic to make sales.

My favorite source of traffic is article-writing and submission. With article writing and submission, you will write articles related to the topic of your online product, and submit these articles to various article directories. The article directories publish your articles, and webmasters can publish your articles on their web sites and in their ezines and online newsletters. When an interested buyer reads your article, they can click through to your site via a link you will place at the end of the article (just like you should do when you finish reading this article). You will direct the reader to your web site, which will promote your product.

Done correctly, this form of traffic generation is extremely effective.

So, how do you do it?

1) Write an article about a topic that would interest your typical purchaser. For example, in this case, my typical purchaser is looking to make more money online. Traffic generation is of interest to people who want to make more money online. Your article must be both informative and easy to read. Do not feel that just because it is a free article, that you need to give them very little information. Actually teach your reader something they don't know. They want to see that you have something to offer before they purchase your paid product, and the article is a great way to introduce yourself and your knowledge, to them. Note: proofread your article, or have someone read it for you. It is a waste of time to write articles with spelling and grammar mistakes; the editors will often reject your article for publication in their directory if there are spelling and grammar errors.

2) Include a section at the end of your article that tells the reader a little about you and your expertise. In this section, include a clickable link to your web site, so that interested readers can click through to your web site to learn more about you and your product.

3) Submit your article to some of the major article directories. Type in "article submission" or "article directories" into your favorite search engine to find a list of directories.

4) Start the process over again. Write many articles and submit them to many directories. Keep in mind, you are not the only person writing articles online; in fact, in the last few months, article writing has had exponential growth.

5) Once you have submitted your articles to a number of directories, you should begin to see a dramatic increase in traffic.

When marketing an Online business you have to consider what your customers want. You can still provide your client base with the information they want without you being in front of a camera.

There are many effective ways to utilize video marketing to profit with My Internet Business. The secret is knowing how to format a video response that your potential customers, can relate to. Its not the flash, the music, or the bright colors that will sell, its you and how you present your Internet Business. Its fundamental to understand what your customers want, and how you and your products and services can help them. While you presenting your video is the best option you can also present it in an informational way that will increase your sales margins. Using some simple online marketing strategies for videos is a proven and effective strategy when increasing sales margins. Used consistently and properly it is sure to bring in profits.
