Why my novels are unique & "historic"
When I say both of my novels are historic, I don't mean in the sense of making history, although I fell they are good enough and hope they might become history making one day. Thus I'm using "historic" instead of "historical" in the way of a sort-of pun. Actually, both of my novels employ the genre of historical fiction to a greater or lesser extent, although the first one is entirely historical. It is a historical novel set in the time of Christ and the Roman Empire (Like Ben Hur, or The Robe). (Well that may have given away my purpose, but that's o.k.)
My second novel is classed as Sci-fi but it also contains much that is historical fiction. It is a time travel novel which uses different historical fiction vinyets to further the plot and purvey the purpose.

Of Such Is the Kingdom : A Novel of Biblical Times
A unique blend of stories of seekers from different walks of life who might have lived then, including a non-conformist salseman who is a king's foster brother, a disgruntled blacksmith named Barabbas and a musing mendicant.
Unlike "The Rob" (see below) this novel poses no extra-Biblical miracles, but use fiction to point to truth.
The unique writing style combines poetry, straight dialouge and 1st person stream-of-consciousness narration with the 3rd person narrative.

HOW I CAME TO WRTIE THESE 2 UNIQUE HISTORIC NOVELS
My 2nd novel was quite different. The idea was suggested to my by a friend and I took it an ran with it. All of the time periods in the novel are my own, which I used for effect and for the lessons they could teach. I played with the syle of this novel, trying first to write it in first person as a kind of ship's log, but I found that didn't work too well, so I left it in 3rd peson narrative.

The Robe
This was one of the first Biblical novels I read. It is the complete experience of everything a novel is supposed to be: Excellent characterization, believable, intriguing plot and conflict, solid sense of time and place, and a climactic ending of triumphant redemption that will leave you in tears. But, unlike my Biblical novel, it poses several extra-Biblial miracles, even attributing magical powers the Christ's robe.
