What makes for a Good Teacher?
If you are thinking of a career in Teaching or about to embark on Teacher Training it is a good idea to stand back for a moment and reflect on the diverse range of professional and inter-personal skills it requires to become an inspirational teacher.
A good solid education and a great qualification is an obvious requisite but this will mean nothing if your other skills and talents fall short of the mark, so what others skills and talents am I talking about?
I created this MyThoughts for Mac Mind Map to help me when I started my Training as a Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESL). The Mind Map gave me a visual representation of my considerations and from this I was able to identify areas that I felt were in need of further enhancement, for example, lesson planning skills.
I hope that my Mind Map is helpful to others with an interest in teaching, be it working with your own children, or those of you teaching teachers.
