Who is your hero, your role model on the road of life?

I'm probably going to win #1 prize for the most unlikely answer to this question, but here it goes:

Liberace`

I'll wait for them that fainted to get up off the floor.

Yes, you heard that correctly, I said Liberace`. My hero, my idol, I love the guy, I look up to him as a wonderful example of how we should live our lives. He had such a great outlook on life, and made it his goal to make everyone around him happy. He spread joy and happiness to everyone like it was the plague. He had a great love for every one, and I think we could all learn from his example.

Plus, I love how he did whatever he wanted regardless of what anyone said or thought about him. Think about it: a guy in the 1950's gets up on stage in a pink sequined capes and truck loads of jewelry, while hundreds of men, fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons, protested and often banned their women, wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters from watching him on TV, claiming that the guy was a disgrace to manhood, and the more the men complained about him, the more outlandish he got, and the more women loved him for it. (Myself included.) Every man I know calls him a sissy, but you know what? It takes a REAL MAN to stand up to all the rest of the men in the world and do it in the rebellious in your face manner in which he choose to do it. I can't help but look up to and admire a rebel like that.

People often tell me that I am weird for picking Liberace` as my personal hero. Am I? Maybe, but still, I don't think any other person has had a bigger impact on the way I live my life. (If only you could see the way I dress, than you'd know just how big of an impact this guy has had on my life, LOL!)

Number 2 on my list, after Liberace`, is yet another flamboyant piano player (wonder if that has anything to do with it?), Serj Tankian.

Serj is a rebel to the utmost extreme. From the words to his songs to the protest marches he organizes, there is no one in the music industry more outspoken for Human Rights, anti-war activism, and anti-chicken cruelty. (I think it was the anti-chicken cruelty that really got me, seeing how I run a rooster rescue.) He's not afraid to tell it like it is or incite a riot to get his point across.

I don't know, maybe I just got a think for piano-playing rebels, but I can't help but admire a guy who stands up for the rights of others, especially when he's standing up for the rights of children and animals as well as the rights of everyone else in the world. If everyone lived their lives by the principles Serj does, we would live in a war-free peace filled world where every one lived in harmony. How can you not admire a guy who is doing everything in his power to make the world a better place?
