Nancy Wylde - Icon of the Decade
Nancy Wylde.... I can fill a book... this is one AMAZING woman, but let me be professional and give a brief background as to why she IS going to become an icon of this decade.
In her own words:
I was born in September 1960 in Liverpool some 20km south west of Sydney to Italian parents who migrated from Reggio Calabria to Australia in the late1950's. My maternal grandfather along with his 2 nephews had migrated to Australia some years earlier to establish a home for his family's arrival.
I attended an All Girls Catholic School and at a young age of 8 began taking music lessons.
I was passionate about music as a young girl - classical in particular, and undertook examinations with the Australian Music Examinations Board in NSW during the course of my musical education and in 1978 I began teaching the piano and have continued since.
I married at the very young age of 16 years and divorced some 17 years later at age 34. During my married years I continued to teach music from my home studio as well as being a homemaker and mother to my 3 children. After an unexpected marriage breakdown and unpleasant divorce, I began furthering my education via Distance. In the year 2000, I was offered to opportunity to teach music to a small exclusive distance education learning centre for children of secondary ages. In this Learning Centre I establishing and directing the School's Band and School's Choir and this continued for approximately 6 years. During this time I continued to further my education became a Vocational Education and Training Assessor as well as certification in Business and Front Line Management via an Education and Training Company of the University of New England in Armidale- Far North NSW.
I have recently completed a 2 year Tertiary Education Course that has enabled me to work as a Learning Support Officer. This allowed me develop skills to work with children with special needs and disabilities in primary and secondary schools.
I currently continue to work part-time as a Learning Support Officer and continue as an instrumental teacher as well.
I have since remarried and now live with my husband in the semi- rural town of Narellan some 40km south west of Sydney which is within a kilometre from my farm.
On the farm my family grow pesticide free organic fruit and vegetables. We have some livestock that are antibiotic, hormone free and roam freely on the farm. I have an older and younger sister both of whom live on the farm next door together with their families.
During what was an arduous and formidable transformation in my life (my marital breakdown and subsequent divorce), I began writing as a form of self therapy. A year after my separation, finding the burdensome changes more than I could withstand, I attempted suicide as a way to end my anguish. I fortunately did not succeed and during a lengthy recovery period in hospital, I began writing from my hospital bed with the intention to see my book come to fruition. It was this simple task of writing that contributed to my healing, self-empowerment and metamorphosis.
I have been a guest speaker on regional and national TV including radio as well as a motivational speaker for women's conventions in the greater Sydney area.
I am passionate about life now and everything that it brings - good or bad (if one chooses to term it in this way). I am zealous about raising awareness within my own family and circle of friends and work colleagues about eliminating our homes of toxic chemicals that we use day to day both in and around our homes and on our bodies (such as personal hygiene products).
I love to cook Italian gourmet foods and find delight in socialising with my very big Italian family (particularly the younger generations for their wonderful open mindedness). I am an avid reader, preferring this to television at any time. Authors that have inspired me are: Dr W Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Stuart Wilde, Carlos Castaneda, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Catherine Ponder, Dr John Gray and Florence Shovel-Shinn. I am particularly interested in any books that are motivational, inspirational, self help, psychology, alternative therapies and nutrition.
I love gardening and exercising when I find the time!

Things you should know about Nancy Wylde
Her Strengths, Her Family, Her Determination
Nancy is a survivor - in every single sense of the world. She is nothing less than the perfect rolemodel for any woman who has been down "there" and realised that the true value in one's life comes from within. Her determination to succeed where she had all but given up manifests itself in her latest book, Ticket to Freedom (Published by Strategic Book Publishing). Despite many obstacles and distractions over a six year period she finally completed her book - a best seller, motivational, inspirational and gives an insight into the strengths and abilities women so often doubt that they have.Nancy realised that there was nothing stopping her from chasing - and realising - her dream and completed her book during an extremely difficult time in her life, whilst laying in a hospital bed after attempting to take her own life.
She became motivated by a passion and vision to help women achieve their potential, to streatch out and realise their dreams.
Ticket to Freedom
A Self-Empowerment Guide for Women
Ticket to Freedom is about harnessing the power which lies deep within all women in order to move toward what they really want out of life. So entrenched is the message of inadequacy in the collective female psyche, that the idea of changing your life may seem like an unfathomable task. But by the end of this book readers will realise that being swept up and tossed around in the proverbial washing machine of life is a far more difficult existence.Being a woman in the 21st Century is liberating. We have certain freedoms now that we didn't have 100 years ago or even 50 years ago! Yet while boulders have been removed from the path that takes us towards our dreams, a lot of debris still remains. Ticket to Freedom details the challenges that still confront many women on their journey to self-empowerment, and shows in practical ways how to regain a firm hold over our lives and work towards achieving what we really want in life.
As it is outlined in the book, one of the most fundamental steps towards gaining self-empowerment is recognizing those opinions and beliefs that can limit one and ones potential.
Another piece of debris that blocks a woman's path to self-empowerment is 'the beauty myth'. This myth suggests we have to look like we just walked out of a beauty salon to be loved, and it touches every woman's life in some way or form. I believe there is still a lot of pressure for women to live up to an ideal image. As much as there is a movement to rectify this, it's still there. The book gives women a hands on approach that requires no prerequisites, only positive steps forward.
Succinctly written Ticket to Freedom will give you the courage and determination that you need to transcend from being a victim of circumstances to becoming the director of your own life. Ticket to Freedom is delivered in a simple form using logic and laughter.

Nancy Is my client. I fell in love with the author and her inspiration and motivation before she became one of my dearest friends. I fell in love with her positivity and exuberance that cannot help but project on to all who meet and come to know her.
Nancy believes in herself, she believes in the inner strength of women, she is extremely passionate and understandably proud about her family and encourages men, women and individuals throughout the world in personal growth. As a motivational speaker I think one would go far to compete with this paragon of strength.

Thank you xxxx - Empowerment Through Our Thoughts : Nancy Wylde
- The journey toward self-empowerment is never easy. It is a journey that demands you work on yourself rather than expecting others to change.
When I walked out of a hospital where I had spent six weeks in recovering from what was medically termed ? a nervous breakdown', however this was nothing short of the begining of my metamorphosis. Nothing in my world around me had changed. Nothing changed except ME. - Nancy Wylde - EzineArticles.com Expert Author

- Hi Sam. I appreciate your comment and freeing the mind is quite liberating indeed. It is amazing how we do not realize that we actually have a choice and we can dump old thinking patterns and beliefs systems that don't work for us at any time. It has been the social conditioning and programming that traps us into our prisons.

- Thank you Rita for you comment about my home. My life is not magical but indeed peaceful now and each day I continue to attract what I have been thinking and dreaming about since I was a child literally! You are right and the law of attraction has been a big part of how I have arrived at where I find myself today. However I did not know the term 'law of attraction' at the time. It is only something I have discovered of late. This law has been around all the time - like gravity - it's there. We need to learn how to use it effectively. You know if we misuse gravity and decide to jump out of a plane without a parachute, what happens? Splat! right? So the law of attraction works the same way. Misuse of this law can cause havock! I am grateful for your time to comment.

- I think reading the book for the 3rd time in a row would be considered odd... but some of the expressions used by Nancy in her descriptions of people and events had me rolling around... What an inspiration this lady is in my life and I am blessed to have her as my dear friend.
