Nanotechnology in BC

Like a lot of people, my first introduction to nanotechnology was through science fiction. In the stories I read, nanotech was the pixie-dust of the future, able to solve just about any problem.

But over time I noticed that bit by bit my favorite science fiction technology was turning into reality. We all still have a long way to go before the grandest visions of nanotech come true, but the progress occuring right now is so exciting that futurism seems besides the point.

Nanotechnology is a reality. I am with Nanotech BC, a not-for-profit organization in British Columbia, Canada where we work to support the fast-growing nanotechnology community in our province. Right in our own back yard we have cutting edge work being done on carbon nanotubes, nanotech cancer treatment, quantum computers and many other fields that were impossible to imagine just a short while ago.

The purpose of this lens is to share all that work with you.
