How Important Are NASCAR Sponsors?As a NASCAR fan myself, I often get confused when looking at all the sponsor advertising on all the race cars. Then one day when I was at Daytona, something occurred to me. See if this has happened to you.
Do the NASCAR racing teams endorse any company that can pay their fee?
Will NASCAR accept every sponsor?
Interesting questions don't you think?
Well, the answer surprised me as I'm sure it will you. You see, according to a research study done by Performance Research, a sports research firm based in Newport, Rhode Island, an overwhelming number of NASCAR fans said that certain sponsors were inappropriate.
The fact is, a solid 83% of NASCAR fans questioned felt that "Condoms", "Penthouse", "Absolut Vodka" and "Mitsubishi Televisions" were inappropriate sponsors for NASCAR.
But the one at the very bottom of the list as inappropriate sponsors for NASCAR were------"Politicians".
Gee, that's no big surprise.
Who Are You Going To Trust?
Independent research companies prove that NASCAR fans have one of the highest levels of brand loyalty and sponsorship support when compared with about 100 other sporting events. You may think that all those company logos on NASCAR racers, both cars and drivers, can get confusing. But these solid research findings show that NASCAR sponsors make "big bucks".In that same survey done by Performance Research, 57% of some 1000 randomly selected NASCAR fans nationwide said they definitely put higher trust in products offered by NASCAR sponsors. I know that I feel the same way too.

Check out these numbers because they really blew me away.
Compared to NASCAR sponsors that are "Highly Trusted" by NASCAR fans, only 16% of the general public put high trust in Olympic sponsors. Even worse is the fact that only 5% of World Cup Soccer fans have a high trust in their sponsors.
There Is No Question That----------

Do You Agree With Most NASCAR Fans?Obviously, Performance Research has shown that 71% of NASCAR fans interviewed said that they "Almost Always" or "Frequently" used a product because it was a NASCAR sponsor. Imagine all that money just for putting a company logo on a race car or driver's suit. We should all be so lucky---right?
Once again NASCAR sponsors and fans like you prove that the 52% of tennis fans and 47% of PGA golf fans who support their sponsors, just don't have the same passion as we NASCAR fans do.
Nothing beats the thrill and excitement I feel at a NASCAR race.
You probably feel the same way when I tell you that being at a NASCAR race really gets my blood pumping and makes me feel totally alive. To me, no other sport comes close to the excitement of NASCAR.

Just To Set The Record Straight
Neither you nor I would believe a NASCAR sponsor if the numbers above came from their corporate offices. But what is really important is that this independent research study by RaceStat had no connection whatsoever to NASCAR.
However, NASCAR sponsors did pay for the study so that they could get a totally unbiased point of view of NASCAR fans and their buying habits. A total of 1,036 NASCAR fans 18 years of age and older were randomly selected nationwide by Performance Research for this study.
Here is a short personal note about what I think about NASCAR Sponsors.
NASCAR sponsors could have saved a ton of money. All they had to do was ask me and a few dozen of my NASCAR buddies at the track on race day. We would have told them how loyal we are to their brands and companies.
I love NASCAR just like you.
