Natalie Portman
I first took notice of Natalie Portman in her role of Mathilda in Léon (The Professional). She was so young but she was already an excellent actress. I thought she was a beautiful child and very talented. Her career really got a boost when she was chosen for the part of Queen Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequels.
I later found out that she is an only child. I'm always on the lookout for great only children role models to share with members of a Parents of Only Children board that I host. And is she ever a positive role model. She has always put her education ahead of her career and is a very intelligent and well spoken woman. She is a Harvard graduate, fluent in Hebrew, a political activist and the FINCA Ambassador of Hope.
