I have definitely had enough talk about H1N1 flu. Every radio and television newscast is reporting on how the flu season is here. The big scare right now is H1N1 flu pandemic. Letter excerpt from an Occular Rosacea Sufferer

I've probably been suffering with occular rosacea for nearing 10 years now. I'm currently 45. Actually even before being diagnosed with occular rosacea, I would have numerous recurring conjunctivitis conditions. I would treat my eyes with the antibiotic drops. I went thorough this since my late teens, up until now, at least 20 or more times.

As I grew older, the "conjunctivitis" seemed to come on more often (a few times a year). This is what we had all thought it was. But my GP was wise enough to suggest I go to an opthalmologist. I did back 3 years ago now and was officially diagnosed with occular rosacea. That explained alot as I read more about this condition. When I had thought some of those infections were conjunctivitis, they were probably a bad case of the rosacea flaring up.

So I went on tetracycline. I used those pills (one per day) for three months then I'd go off them for 3 or more months until I couldn't stand it any longer. I got terrible yeast infections while taking tetracycline. I never got 100% relief in my eyes even while taking tetracycline. The first time I used them, it was pretty good. But the subsequent few times, not as good. At best during the daytime, maybe 75% relief. In the evening or am, probably 25-50% relief. The mornings and late evening are the worst for my eyes. Or very bad stress.

I started on the Silver Shield gel faithfully twice a day. I also would wash my eyelids with baby shampoo (as recommended by the eye Dr). I also used the Silver Shield liquid once or twice a day along with 2 probiotic pills per day. This finally gave me some relief! During the daytime, my eyes feel and look normal, for the first time in 3 years or more. When I pull back my lower lid (where my eyes looked the reddest normally), my eyelids and lower eyeball look almost normal. Amazingly my eyes don't ache as bad nor feel as dry as they did before using Silver Shield.

First thing in the am, it takes me a bit to get up and washed up and the gel on my face, but as soon as I do that, it's almost instant relief. Feels about 75% better in seconds. At night, I sometimes still have the aching dry feeling, but it's not near as bad most days as it had been. And no more yeast infections!
