Mineral Make Up

When I was in esthetic's school (skin care), one of the things I found was mineral make up. We had a rep come in from Jane Iredale one day, and we got to see the amazing way it offered coverage. I was a perfect candidate for them to experiment on, because I have Rosacea. People's jaws dropped when they saw the results. It was amazing! I almost didn't recognize myself without the redness. I have both Bare Escentuals Mineral Make Up and Jane Iredale Mineral Make up. I love both of their products. There are so many companies to choose from, these are two I've had personal experience with.

I sat through an 80+ hour course on medical esthetics as well as my regular estehtic's course, and one of the things that was again emphasized was that natural mineral make up is used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons to help clients camouflage their skin. I was proof positive in the classroom.

Here are some more recent pictures to show you the before and after of using mineral make up. I like some of the flush to show just a bit, because I'm so used to seeing the red of my rosacea, but I could cover this even more if I chose.

This was taken with half of the face done, half not. The only thing I have on is the mineral foundation, mineral eyeshadow, and mascara. I wanted to show you how easily it covers up the flushing of my Rosacea in a side-by-side shot.

One of the great things about pure mineral make up is that it's excellent for sensitive skin. It doesn't use talc or fillers. If you have reactions to other make up, make it's time to give pure mineral make up a try. It's so gentle, you can sleep in it.

You may think it's a little pricey. That's the thing, you only need the tiniest bit. It lasts a super, long time! One container will last you for quite awhile. I've also stopped buying other types of make up to throw it away later, because I'm not using it. I cherish my mineral make up now!

Natural mineral make up looks like a powder or talc, but it's not! There is no powder or talc in it. Mineral make-up is concentrated pigment, often being iron oxides. It is finely crushed which means you only need a little bit.

It is crushed minerals.

You can apply the colors as a very sheer layer, or add more and add intensity. It easily can match most skin tones. You will truly be amazed. Can you tell I love natural mineral make up? I'm truly a huge fan of the product! I use it myself! (remember the pictures above?!!)

Go back and look at my pictures. Imagine if I had to go out to dinner, and I didn't have the option of pure mineral make up. I'd either have to cake on regular foundation, or try something to cover my redness. Rosacea is really a pain sometimes. I didn't get it until my thirties, and it has really thrown me for a loop. I used to have great, clear skin when I was younger. Don't get me wrong, my skin goes in and out of flare-ups, but when I'm flare up, it's never fun.

Pure mineral make up can be used for corrective purposes. It quickly helps me cover my redness, and it can help even out your complexion. I've had so many compliments on my skin, people never know I suffer from Rosacea! I always rave about the help of natural mineral makeup. I want everyone to know they can have the appearance of flawless skin!

What I love about applying natural mineral makeup is how quick and easy it is. It's such a simple process. One tip I'd like to add, is investing in the brushes that are sold with them, make application so much better. Think of a good quality brush as an investment. It will last a very long time when treated properly. A good brush can make the difference between a good application and an GREAT ONE!
