Medical Procedures
Where it is needed, hemorrhoids can be removed either surgically by means or laser treatment, or by rubber banding. Hemorrhoidectomy is only used in extreme cases when nothing else would work. There is no guarantee that they will not eventually return. Laser treatments scar the bulging soft tissues which have lost their tone. This causes them to tighten up and support themselves better. Rubber banding cuts the blood supply to the excess tissue. Eventually they die off and are scorified (scraped off) by passing stools and carried out the body.
Ointments And Suppositories
Ointments and suppositories usually contain a mixture of products. These will be aimed at reducing swelling and bruising, preventing infection, and easing pain.
