Netbooks have really taken the world by storm in the last 18 months. They have become more and more popular as the economic crises worsens. They are relatively cheap, portable, robust and perform the basic functions that most people use such as internet conneciton, basic word processing and looking at pictures.

What are netbooks
Many people often wonder what exactly are netbooks. Netbooks are basically a laptop for someone who doesnt need all the hype and technological wonders of a fully blown netbook. So, in other words, it is a very basic laptop. As they are so basic, they are relatively cheap. They often cost less than 1/3 of what a laptop would cost and perform the functions that most people would require. These functions include browsing the internet (most have wifi and some have 3G), basic word processing (word, excel) and viewing videos and pictures. Most also are very portable and quite robust
