I was first introduced to MLM back in 1994. I fell in love with the concept of leveraged lifetime income. I did EVERYTHING that my upline told me to do...I made my list of 100 friends, family, business associates...I religiously went to hotel meetings, set up appointments and showed the plan and gave away products. The future looked so bright and promising...2 years later in 1996, all I had to show for all my hard work was more debt, a house full of products and a whole lot fewer friends who actually still talked with me....I walked away....there was something wrong with me (my upline told me I would never be successful because I had "stinkin' thinkin'"

It wasn't until 2005 that I seriously took a look at network marketing again....the sting of my previous failure was gone and the truth is, I had learned alot about myself and other people from that venture. I was introduced to internet network marketing by a great gal ....she was a top-producer in the company....the business had a great product....the comp plan wasn't too shabby either....and I didn't have to do any more hotel meetings....everything was done with a telephone and a computer. The marketing system did 90% of the hard work....all I had to do was follow up with people that were really interested in my product and business, right? (You know the answer to that one I am sure!)

I spent $1,000's on highly qualified "red hot" leads only to find out that they were "ice cold" and didn't even remember going on the internet to look for information about building a home based business. Maybe you can relate....

What I FINALLY realized is that Network marketing is very unique in that it's the only business that's marketed to the general public on a mass scale. And we are taught by our uplines to tell average, every-day people that they can jump right into this, with no prior experience or training what-so-ever and fire their boss within 6 months!

Think about this for a minute....I am a professional chef. I have spent 25 years and $10,000's educating myself to be really great a what I do. Can you imagine me asking you to switch places with me tomorrow, with the expectation that you are going to produce a $250 per person, 5-course sitdown dinner for 2,500 people by 8:30 pm? Unless you are a highly trained chef, with specialized knowledge in large-scale, highend banquet production, you would have NO chance whatsoever of being able to produce that meal, much less get paid for it. It is no different with network marketing....
