An MLM Plan for 2009

Well this could be a long section because there is, in my opinion, many problems with MLM and Network Marketing.

Well in reality, it's not the MLM or Network Marketing that's the problem. It's the way people treat their business or the ways people try to build their business and teams.

The real problem then becomes the massive failure rate among people who get into MLM or Network Marketing. We're talking a 90+ failure rate over the decades that MLM has been around.

I know I'm not making a very postive case for getting involved in network marketing. Why on earth would you ever want to consider doing it?
Well wait....

There's a difference between effective and ineffective business building methods.

You see, most people that try to build a network marketing or MLM business try doing it by using old and ineffective lead generation and team building methods.

They are taught to sit down and list the names of everyone they ever knew and to contact them about their "opportunity". (That was always hard for me because I'm real bad with names)

Then, when that list runs dry, and it will.....very quickly, they are told to get out there and tell everyone they meet at the store and the mall about their "story" or "opportunity". They labor over creating a clever 30second elevator pitch like - "I teach people how to be financially independent" or something like that.

Oh, by the way, here's a motiviationl CD to listen to. Uplines love motivational CD's to keep their people motivated. It's important to keep you motivated because you are going to get rejected by just about everyone you meet.

But that's ok because you want to get rejected as much as you can so you can find the person that will say "yes". Huh??? That's does'nt sound like much fun and it's not. I've tried that. I had more fun getting a root-canal done.

Another problem is that most Network Marketers focus on promoting their "opportunity". I'm sorry to say it but nobody wants to hear about your opportunity. They want solutions to their problems and they want someone to help them with that problem. Most Network Marketers fail to promote themself as a part of the solution. In turn, they become just one of the 1,000's selling an opportunity to help themself.

So what is the alternative...?

Any and every Network Marketer needs 2 things to have a chance.

1. A product that is real and does what it says it will along with a company/leadership that is dependable and proven. That includeds product and checks that are delivered on time.

2. Leads, leads, leads & more leads. Having people to talk to is the life blood of any MLM business. Not just anyone. You need people that are pre-qualified and have shown interest in having a home based business or that are interested in your product. Then, you need to have some way to teach the people you bring into your business to generate their own leads. This will keep your team growing.

Once you have those 2 things in place, you will have the road map to give you a much better chance at reaching your goals. An advantage greater than the vast majority that sit in that 90% group of people that fail to build a business or income in MLM and Network Marketing.

I should mention one more thing that's important here. You will also benefit a great deal if you're working with an upline sponsor that understands how these lead generation systems work and can help you implement them.

How to become an effective internet marketer. How to use the massive social media online today to reach out and connect with 1000's of people faster then you could ever in the offline world. That's what I can do. I will provide you with my individual and team training, resources and information that will keep you from getting lost in the maze of online and internet based marketing. It can be complicated to learn on your own. But you will be provided with a road map and I will show you how to follow that map....step-by-step.

So, in the following sections, I will give you options to find those 2 key and essential elements. It's my plan...

Simply put, Fountain of Life is a group of entrepreneurial-minded individuals who have come together to create a functional and nutritional beverage that makes a difference in the lives of the people that use our product and the people who are building a business and home based income by marketing and sharing VaNu, or cornerstone product.

I can share all sorts of information with you about management, the compensation plan and the product but let me tell you what it was about Fountain of Life and VaNu that attracted me, Dale, as a network marketer.

You see, for many years I avoided the Health & Wellness side of network marketing. I had no desire to market lotions, potions or pills. It just seemed to unstable for me. However, to do that I had to ignore the massive companies that were created around nutritional products. I had to ignore that fact the large consumer market of effective nutrition based products. I had to ignore the needs of an aging population that was looking for ways to stay healthy, fight aging that was going to slow them down and the growing interest in alternative ways to fight illness.

Any seasoned networker will tell you that the key to long term success with network marketing and the key to residual income from customers is to provide an effective product that is highly consumable.

While many network marketing companies outside of Health & Wellness do provide consumable products. It was the Health & Wellness companies and products that often created the most compelling and passionate testimonials when a health product changes someone's life.

Where there is passion, there is excitement. Its that excitement and results that created dedicated consumers and motivated distributors.

So, I decided I needed to give Health & Wellness another look.

I had a choice. I could go with an established company with a large distributor base or I could work with a young company with good potential and a wide open market.

Because I am a marketer and an entrepreneur, I chose the second option. I wanted to be a part of something and be involved in creating the direction and future of the company. I sought out a company ownership that entrusted their early leaders to build the company that they wanted and create the energy and direction.

Network marketing is in an interesting time in 2009. Much is changing with the growth of social media and a growing online world. From past experience with older, established companies, their size seems to prevent them from embracing new technology and concepts simply because they get stuck in the old ways and feel, at times, they do not need to incorporate new technology because they built the original business without them.

Being an entrepreneur, I was attracted to a young business and opportunity because I value the flexability, the excitement and the vision found in the new venture. I enjoy the competition and sense of team that is created by leaders working to be the first to hit a milestone.

In short, I wanted to work with other like-minded entrepreneurs.

Although Fountain of Life just began pre-launch in November of 2008, we have already been getting a lot of attention, endorsements and press coverage because of the number of professional athletes in both the PGA and the NHL who have begun using VaNu.

The program itself does a great job in giving you a complete understanding of how to set-up your own personal lead generation, prospecting and business building system.

But I take it one step further. I openly share my experience and understanding of using these systems and fill in the gaps if you get stuck or off track for a moment.

There is a concept to be understood and gaining an vision for the marketing concept is important. You need to see your marketing system from a big picture perspective.

So, as you sponsor and team leader, I work with (as a group and one on one) with you to help you with the big picture view. I also openly share new methods and techniques so you can keep your system growing and working at its best.

I will never ask you to make a list of 100 friends, family and co-workers to call and invite them to look at your "opportunity". The way I see it, if you are having success in building your business, you will want to do that anyway. I dont need to tell you to do it.

Im not going to ask you to buy and endless supply of motivational CD's and courses just to stay motivated and to deal with rejection.

Why not? Because when you learn how to market with a system, you will not be playing the numbers game and hearing no after no in order to build your team. Your lead generation system and prospecting system is intended to weed out people who are not interested in the business because they would not be contacting you in the first place if they were not interested.

Will all the leads you created using your system join your/our business? No. In reality, you may not want to sponsor everyone that contacts you.

This is the difference between prospecting, where you go out and find people and using a system that does that for you. It's the difference between being the Hunter and being the Hunted.

I want to mention one thing before we move on. While I'm not going to push you into buying motivational courses and CD's. I want to say that I do support the idea of investing in your education as a professional network to gain new skills and knowledge. I will suggest and recommend materials and courses that can educate you as a professional networker because no profession exists that does not require an education.

Network Marketing a Profession?

Yes, I will introduce you (as a member of my team) to some of the most professional, successfull and talented network marketers around. You will learn from the best and learn how to network with industry leaders. Its when you begin to associate with full-time professional networkers that you will begin to understand how to look at your business as a business owner. Just like in the Robert Kiyosaki video I shared with you at the top of this page. Seeing network marketing as a financially independent person means being about to see it as a business built on a professional network. Where professionals collaborate and learn from each other.

If you've never seen the inside of network marketing, where the real business is, thats because you've never worked with a team like ours.

So, what am I saying? Simply this...if you want a hobby, then I'm the wrong choice, if you want a real business and want to learn how to be a professional network marketer....lets move on to the next step.

Each and every person trying to build an MLM or network marketing needs 2 things to have any success. Leads, and more money in their pocket.

Simply put, even if you have found great success at generating a non-stop flow of great leads, prospects and new distributors, unless those you sponsor can do the same thing, your team and organization goes no where.
