A touch of Networking Magic..

Social Media can add a touch of magic to your Network Marketing business and will undoubtedly play a big part in the next few amazing years that are in store for the industry.

But how do you professionally get the best from the social media explosion? There is a right way and a wrong way, the right way will take some time and work and give great results for your business, the wrong way will just annoy everyone you meet, make you look like a donkey and leave you Nobby No Mates, frustrated and lonely.

Network Marketing, Social Media and a bit of Common Sense.

Social Media has a big part to play in the ongoing growth of Network Marketing and will contribute in no small part toward the increased global understanding of the Network Marketing business model.

The next few years for networking will be an incredible time, the economic climate and recession has already proved in history to directly impact the speed with which the right company can capitalise and massively grow in times of economic hardship. Fortunes can and will be made.

But there is a new force driving the industry along, Social Media.

Coming of age at exactly the right time social media is one of the contributing factors that will be a major catalyst to the exciting times ahead. Suddenly everybody's circle of influence has grown, as well as the 150-200 people that all of us knew already, guys that we would invite to our wedding and friends that we have made over the years, it's now possible to make friends and start relationships with people from all over the world.

Social sites like Facebook and Twitter have made it possible for anyone, and I mean anyone, the work from home mum, my Gran and the guy who delivers the newspaper to have thousands of friends all over the world. There are hundreds of people who have 5000 friends on Facebook and lots of people on Twitter who have over 40,000 (yes, forty thousand) people who follow them and that they interact with.

The Social Media opportunity when done right can be a magical contribution to your business. But, as with everything new and exciting, someone has to come along and try and ruin it for everyone else.

The chance to be able to market yourself on-line has led to the discovery of a whole new breed...

"The Social Media Donkey"

We've all met him, "Hi my names Jim, check out my amazing opportunity" Ur no thanks Jim, Delete. Or, "Thanks for accepting me as a friend, you wanna check this out.. I earn millions doing this, so could you" Once again Jim.. Ur.. No.

The constant barrage, everything they post on your wall in Facebook, everything they type in their Twitter feed for you to see is pitching you with their opportunity, it's not only a waste of time it's darn annoying.

Why does the Social Media Donkey think that people want to be approached in this rude invasive manner, the SMD makes himself no better than the good ole email spammers who we know and love so much..!

So, the common sense part.

For this let's look at the basics of why the traditional approach Network Marketing is so successful.

In its simplest form what we do is create relationships and build trust, in the initial stages of the business this is often the relationships that we have had with people for years, we then transfer belief in an opportunity or a product. Very simply, we create relationships, build trust and transfer belief.

This is why Social Media is such a great addition to Network Marketing, it works alongside the core building blocks of the business model. What people fail to realise though is that this is the exact same approach that should be used when networking through social media, just with social media you can do it on a much grander scale.

Just start by being you, if you can create a rapport and develop friends on-line, build trust that you are someone that they want to interact with, then when the time is right they will be interested in finding out what you have to offer, or they will perceive you as someone that they can learn from. In most instances when done correctly your on-line friends will be coming to you asking what you do for work and wanting a piece of the action.

Don't become the Social Media Donkey that everyone hates, spend the time to learn how to become a professional within this space, learn how to correctly develop friends through social networking and learn how to position yourself as an interesting person to interact with.

So I don't want to be a Donkey... What next?

One of the best places I would recommend to start is Renegade University, it's a step by step guide on how to use Social Media to your best advantage, as well as an in-depth look at Facebook and Twitter it explores a myriad of other great useful tools like Blogging and this website, Squidoo. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro in the industry the Renegade course is great. Another suggestion would be to look at Magnetic Sponsoring, this will help you understand how attraction marketing works, how to attract people to come to you for advice, or to position yourself as someone who has something to offer.

The world is becoming a very small place but it's an exciting place to be, and a great time to ramp up your efforts and explore new avenues, so here's to your success. If you would like to connect with me on Facebook or Twitter please do so, or join me at my blog www.benfletcher.tv
