Music Sets the Mood: Your choice of music selections deserves some careful thought and planning. Are you inviting mellow friends that want to sit and talk, or are you interested in getting those people dancing? Taste in music can be so varied, consider the tastes of the people that you're inviting, then cater to some of their favorites. Be very mindful of 11:30pm - this is when you want to elevate everyone's energy for the midnight hour - so liven up the tempo! Remember to: have about 6 hours of music pre-selected, keep the music flowing, cater to the different tastes.

Glamour Decor: Decorations at a festivity can really help to generate enthusiastic responses. Go all out with shimmer and glitter. Dress up your tables, the ceiling and walls, even though people might think that they're lame, pass out the hats, horns and confetti anyway - they add to the fun!

Lighting is Key: Just like the music, your room lighting is an essential factor in creating partysuccess. Harsh lights can tire people out, softer lights add to the intimacy of the moment and encourage romance & slow dances. Use lightstrings to add to the mood, use colored lightbulbs in your tablelamps and bath fixtures.
