I've just traded up to a kingsize bed and plonked it into the best space available.

But that's not quite enough.

Let me start again as that's not nearly enough. Moving an over sized bed into the space you have will not have the desired affect for the room.

The positioning of you personal objects around you, creating a flow of positive energy throughout your immediate surroundings.

Imagine that the placement of or flow of energy can increase your well being and you'll begin to understand the magnitude of what can be achieved by strategically designing the layout of you home, office, studio or bedroom.

Interior design students will have an advantage when taught how to match and compliment differing materials and textures to produce a new final channel for their vision. The ultimate effect of this work is to relax the persons receiving the new designs work.

Create the perfect environment for personal relaxation on a deep level. So what level of relaxation will have you in a meditative state. How can you direct the energy? Is it all just a matter of throwing a few big cushions and a shade to bring down the lights to sooth your eyes.

Where To Get Started In Here

Here's the breakdown

Ok starting with a blank canvas and with the Philosophy of Feng Shui in mind.

Look at your bedroom space and assuming you do not intend to take down any columns or make alterations to the structure of the room, then take a measurement of the dimensions, (depth, width, height)

Go online but also walk through to look at the types of designs that are available and withing your budget, that leave you enough space to move preferably around both sides of the bed. If you have that luxury.

Consider which brand, quality of the mattress (ie: memory foam, air mattress, latex foam, inner spring) and pillows (man made, down, or something medically recommended) that you can afford, allowing for any allergies you may have.

You are working on the bedding, so lets consider the color scheme for your new bedroom. A neutral color would work best to calm and allow you to relax in your room when you need to do so. Also, try not to clutter all the walls with large framed pictures or posters.

Bedding and Bedroom Furniture.

Regardless of whether you're fitting out a guest room or your own special sanctuary, you're going to have a budget in mind as to how much you're willing to invest in the quality and style of the furniture for your bedrooms. You may even consider a minimalist bedroom layout for your vacant guest rooms. Your visitors will be comfortable in their surroundings just as much as in their own homes.

Now for yourself, you could be aiming for the most exquisit furniture designs your money can buy. Why not live in the lap of luxury, this is your own private space, not for the eyes of anyone but yourself and your partner.

when one bed just wont do

Ok its the same thing really same use and you'll probably have a smaller safe or no extra bedroom for guests, so the convenience of a pullout, prop-up arrangement suits you humble abode.

Because this is not a permanent bedroom setting, rather a shared living space, there's not much in the way of feng shui treatment that you can do for the surroundings. It's all just temporary, unless you're living in bedsit/studio apartment where everything all merges into one.

a mirror in your room is fine as long as it dosnt face yourn bed

It's interesting that Feng Shui considers a mirror in the bedroom generating bad energy. Not sure if there is anything to it, but Feng Shui, even if it doesn't work, has very sensible design ideas. Great info.

I love the minimalist aesthetic of Feng Shui, and sometimes I think Feng Shui works simply because you are living in a clutter free space, which instantly makes your life less stressful! Nice lens.
